Public drunkenness is encouraged in the US, especially by women. And we have no problem with people drinking foreign whisky, either. Besides, in the US the contest would involve a lot more than a pint of wine, and something more interesting to watch than trying to navigate a curvy path. Like, you know, tight T-shirts and water. maybe wrestling of some sort.
