so much for that — and now the Friday Five

well the tape is done (its a little over 2 min, so they might just automatically disqualify me) and its in the mail (fed ex). So that’s pretty much it for that. I don’t expect that I’ll hear from them again, but ah well… the dream is out there or something.

I’ll say one thing for Wayne’s World. It is nice to have random religious holidays off. Very nice to be able to drink a SoCo in the middle of the afternoon.

And now, the Friday Five:

1. Who is your favorite celebrity?
I always have problems with questions like this. Favorite Anything. I mean, it depends on the context. Singer? Actor? Writer? Artist? And even then it depends on my mood at that exact moment. Bah… I’m just going to say Richard Grieco, because he is so much hotter than Depp.

2. Who is your least favorite?
Same problems as above. I guess could just say Johnny Depp because he is so inferior to Grieco. But really I wish I could come up with someone better. Ummm… I dunno, I guess I’ll just say Celine Dion… she bothers me.

3. Have you ever met or seen any celebrities in real life?
Yes, many in fact. I’d say the crowning achievement would be when I got to sing Atomic Dog on stage with George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars. But I’ve also met several random novelists, comic book artists, actors and the like. And I guess my Dad was a minor celebrity when I was growing up. At least in Texas.

4. Would you want to be famous? Why or why not?
I guess it might be neat. I mean, there are good points and bad points. Certainly would be cool to be able to frequent the Hollywood Parties. I think ideally, I’d want to be a B/C list celebrity. Famous enough to skip the lines at Nobu and get invited to Playboy’s Midsummer Nights Dream party, but not so famous that the tabloids really care about your life unless you do something really stupid. Sort of like Kato Kaelin is these days.

5. If you had to trade places with a celebrity for a day, who would you choose and why?
Hugh Hefner, and really, I think the reasons are pretty obvious.

Who is your dad? I grew up in Dallas – I’m curious if I’ve heard of him.

Derrill Holly… more in the Houston area. He was a news reporter on the radio mostly and for a while on TV. He also had a talk show for a bit… on Channel 20, I think.

Hmm… while the name sounds familiar, it’s not a terribly unusual one. For some reason, I associate it with football… not sure why.

Hmmm… probably not him… he mostly did the news, but then who knows… I’m sure he would have interviewed some sports people on his talk show at some point or another… *shrug*
