on colloquies and computer chips

Thankyou to drspooky, theadana, katieboyd and others for a wonderful party last night. Much fun was had and cool people were met, and it makes me look very forward to throwing the next Jammy Jam when I hope all will be there. Also looking forward to georgejas and dgr‘s party later today.

Got my replacement RAM chip for my computer in the mail today, but because the gods of computing don’t like me, it appears not to work correctly either. Its a 512M chip, but my computer won’t recognize it as such. It thinks its just a 256. It’s currently in sui66iy‘s computer, where it appears to be behaving quite finely in its 512ness. If it continues to behave fine, I guess I will sell it to him, and try again at some point. If it doesn’t then its another return in my furture… *sigh*

BTW – I get drunk = I get stupid = I say stupid things = please don’t judge me for stupid things I say when I’m drunk. Unless I said something clever. Then you may judge. For some reason I’m quite embarrassed of the conversation I had with you.

hmmm… I don’t remember you saying anything stupid. I recall you telling me about your friend who is a wrestler (which I actually already knew about from here… but what the hell, you were drunk… I repepat stories all the time, even when I am sober), living in Ohio and why you moved to Pittsburgh, the meaning of the various color coding of the stars you were wearing, and the intimate details of your torrid affair that ended in a love child with Carrot Top. Pretty standard party fair really.

PS: Yes, I was kidding, we didn’t really discuss Carrot Top. I know full well that your love child is with Emo Phillips.

OK. That’s all good. Maybe I should stop here, but then I’m really stupid when I’m sober too. My paranoid mind sees a conversation of some really bigoted person trying overly hard to not be bigoted by making dumb statements that really do more to seem bigoted than to not. Then I sober up and ask, please don’t think I’m a bigot. I’m really not. But maybe it was all an invention of my “you are always just stupid when you’re drunk” paranoia.

Emo Phillips! How did you know!? I just blab every thing when I drink, don’t I. -sigh-

        But, really, who’s Emo Phillips?
        I’m serious now.

Emo Phillips, yo baby-daddy, was a comedian who was pretty big in the 80s who’s gimmick was pretty much being annoying (at least in my opinion). He was just some name that I pulled out of the air. He appears to have somewhat changed his image these days, I really can’t say whether he’s annoying or not, but his website certainly is.

Ugh, am I really that much older than you?

I’m not sure. No matter what age, though, I tend to be oblivious to pop culture at times. I have little care for names of actors, actresses, comedians, bands, and such.

            Or maybe you’re just old.

I’m 28, but is older than me and she said she doesn’t remember him anyway… so its entirely possible that I am just being a Pop Culture geek… which I am…
