on me giving away free flickr accounts…

That’s right, free stuff, bitches!

So, as I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been using Flickr to store and share my photos. I liked it enough that I paid for a pro account a while back. It’s not really designed to host images, but its pretty snazzy if you’re into sharing photos, and especially if you’re into photo based communities and such.

Anyway, I got mail today from Flickr saying that as a thankyou for buying a Pro (read: paid) account, they are giving me two free Pro accounts to give to a couple of friends. Of course the problem is, I don’t really know who I should give them to. Several people I know already have Flickr accounts, and they have either paid for the Pro version, or they have decided that the free version is good enough.

So here we go, contest time. You want my free accounts, then earn them. Tell me why I should give you the account, point me at photos that you’ve taken the calibur of which would frequently appear in my flickr friends page, give me money, give me a blow job. Whatever. And after all is said and done, I guess I’ll just pick the two people I feel deserve it the best.

Dance, monkeys, dance…

om

You shouldn’t give one to me, as I am protesting their anti-sketchbook bigotry.

you know we do own like 500 megs of online storage space that we bought specifically to store art and stuff in, and also, you could like take more photos. Just sayin’ is all…

By the way, I talked to iPowerWeb about moving up to the modern versions of their servers (they really aren’t supporting cpanel anymore, they have an updated version called vdeck). When we move we’d go from 500 megs to 2 gigs of storage (same price), but we’d have to make a few updates to our scripts, supposedly, and we’d have to get used to using the new interface. I expect its probably worth it, since I think they’re gonna get rid of cpanel eventually anyway. But I also don’t really have time to deal with it til after I am done with house stuff.

36 Reasons You Should Pick Theadana

    http://theadana.com/kissingmavsass/kissingmavsass.html

    Additional Super Bonus Reasons:

    0. Because I’m broke.
    1. Because I would never spend the money on myself if I had it.
    2. Because if I don’t post pictures regularly, you can berate and guilt trip me until I do.

Re: 36 Reasons You Should Pick Theadana

Ooh, all I have to do is post *my* goat picture to be even.

Of course, yahoo will kill flickr within 6 months and the whole thing will be pointless anyway.

what makes you think so? I haven’t cared for Yahoo’s photo hosting system the times I’ve checked it out. (its been a few months since last I looked. Is it getting cooler?)

Umm, no. Yahoo bought Flickr. Yahoo kind of sucks, so Flickr will soon kind of suck.
