on strawberries and raspberries and all those good things…

You know, I’ve gone out of my way to defend pop music a few times. And yet, I think I’ve only seen American Idol like twice. Why? Because I simply don’t care. I don’t want to get all up on a high horse and pretend that I think reality TV is the all time low in artistic value for the human experience. After all, I’m a hip-hop listening, skinemax watching, professional wrestling, beer drinking, comic book fan. Who am I to talk. But some things are just beneath even me. And remember, I was the biggest fan there was of the movie Soul Plane.

That said, I simply can’t wait til this Thursday and the premiere of H1t Me Baby One More Time on NBC. Its a reality music competition starring washed up former stars trying to make a comeback. Ever wonder what happened to Flock of Seagulls? Well Thursday night is your chance to find out. There are some things that are just too much to pass up. Is Loverboy still working for the weekend? Is Tiffany still alone? And what about Arrested Development? Will acting like a nigga still get you stomped by an African? Does Vanilla Ice still suck? These are things I just have to know.

Actually, I think it might be interesting in a train wreck sort of way. I don’t know that I’ll be able to tolerate watching it for more than one week, but it is the sort of thing that I just can’t keep myself from checking out at least once. You know, sort of like a train wreck.

Ok, I’ll have to watch it twice. Apparently Cameo is going to be in it eventually. But that hardly seems fair. Cameo isn’t washed up like the others. Larry Blackman is forever, dammit! FOREVER!

Owww!!!

Hmm… I want to see if INXS, with their new, reality-show-picked lead singer, is still better than Flock of Seagulls with their original lineup.

But not enough to watch either one of the shows.

ah… I forgot about the INXS show… I’m somewhat curious about that, but I don’t know if I’m curious enough. I think its mostly that i can’t imagine what kind of person has the dream to be the lead singer for INXS. I mean, I sort of almost kinda get the trump show or the new hilton or martha stewart shows. and I definitely get the survivor and such shows where there’s a bunch of money on the line or american idol where you get a recording contract. But what is the benefit of having the job of being the new lead singer for a washed up 80s band.

I mean, if it was Duran Duran, at least you might score some whores and coke.
