I need to get some new pictures, dawg. I think the best one I have right now that actually has me wearing clothing is the Lobster Magnet picture from the Aloha Jam. Seeing how I’m text-only at work, think you could pop that into a reply for me?

    Meanwhile…
is another good one, but it’s me at my post-depression skinniest.
    is a decent closeup.

I’m at work too… and on Mellon’s net, I only even barely have web access. I can’t even tell what the pics you posted are. Dunno if they’re broken or if they’re just blocked.

yep… just checked… those images are definitely both broken urls.

Damn. Well, anyway, both of those pictures are on my info page.

yeah… if figured that’s what you were trying to post links to from the URLs.

yeah, that’s pretty well framed for a self-digitial photo. I’m really bad at taking those. I have to try a million times to get something I like.

      Re: It’s a tie between these two…

big pic! Sexy, of course… but big!

I think technically the bottom pic is “better.” It’s more in focus, and the hug/lick moment is cuter than just standing there. That pic tells more of a story.

That said, there’s just something about a girl with playboy bunny ears… and they’re missing from the bottom pic. Ah well.

nice tux. Tuxedos are always a good way of making oneself look good. What was the other option you were debating?

I came across this photo while sync’ing backups between networked & DVD storage.

Happily, I’m not that large anymore, but I like it as a self-portrait:

. . . Though it’d be better if everyone (except maybe C) were more fluid. Something to try for next time.

I actually like that a whole lot. I think you made the right decision not cropping yourself out. But I think you’re also right that it would make for a much better effect if everyone was motion blurred except for you.

Hey, its not too late. That’s what you have photoshop for.

I suppose. But the high ISO of that image means that it’s noisy, so I’d have to replicate that as well. I could do it, but I think I’d rather use this as an excuse to go back to the Aquarium and try again. Though 1.3s is pushing the limit of what I can do with a monopod (which you can’t really see) even with image stabilization.

Still, trying is half the fun.

wow… I totally didn’t catch the monopod in the pic at all til you mentioned it. Wow… I need one of those. And a new tripod. Mine is messed up.

did you hand color it or chroma key it? it looks like there is some blue in the background as well.

      1. November 17, 2005 at 11:25 am

The original was color, duplicated it, made the top layer b&w, then used masking to erase the b&w over the hair and eyes. Then I did something to change how blue they were, probably just hue/saturation or color balance. I don’t remember exactly. If there’s blue in the background, I may have been sloppy with the eraser and didn’t notice.

you know…as un-PC as it is supposed to be to say so… there really is something sexy about a girl smoking. Yeah it may be bad for you. But anyone who thinks that it isn’t hot, and that people who smoke aren’t cooler than people who don’t. Well, they’re just wrong. Smoking, drinking, drugs, teen sex, rock and roll… all cooler than not. So take that after school specials!

      1. November 17, 2005 at 6:35 pm

Yup, had it cut in mid-Sept and have been keeping it trimmed. After 6-7 years of long hair, it still feels strange. Cold neck & ears, can’t fling my hair around, I try grabbing my ponytail and there’s nothing there…

          1. November 17, 2005 at 7:27 pm

overall I like it, despite the phantom-limb effect. Much less effort, and yes, the 19yr olds are flirting with me again.

only a couple more years til you’ll be able to legally check off that magical “half my age” box that every man dreams of, even when they don’t want to admit it.
