I don’t really want to get the interview meme started up again, but I was just thinking that I hadn’t really posted anything in over a week, and I was also thinking that there are a bunch of people reading this who I don’t know, or haven’t talked to before (as well as anyone who’s reading it since I started cross posting to myspace).
So today, in lieu of an actual content, I’m going to steal kingdomjames‘s gimmick for a moment. Ask me anything!
Wrestling, politics, sex, fashion, nuclear physics, whatever.
Ask whatever you want. I’ll answer whatever. Maybe even truthfully. And hey, maybe it’ll give me an idea of something else to rant on.
What are your thoughts on string theory?
I tend to prefer a nice cotten blended thread for anything that is going to touch my skin, but I like the synthetics for their durability. In general I quite dislike wools, as I find them itchy, hence the lack of sweaters that I wear.
As for sub-atomic particles? I never really have much use for them. They’re outside of my frame of reference. Thus I don’t think about them anymore than I think about whether there is a god or not. If you’re just asking for a value judgement, I guess I think its a fine theory. As good as any other. If you’re asking if I believe it. Well, I’m still not convinced that Jay Z didn’t just make the Universe. I mean come on, the guy is powerful enough to give us the black album. He can do anything.
How much do you value your life?
When I parents give me a car, will you risk your life by riding around as my passenger while I learn to operate it?
Re: How much do you value your life?
I parents? Like I Claudius? Or more like I Robot?
Anyway, sure, why not? Especially if its a cool car. We can like go cruising for chicks and stuff.
Re: How much do you value your life?
Actually, it’s a new Apple product — iParent.
Re: How much do you value your life?
I’m trying to hold off and wait for the MacParents Pro, due out sometime 1Q2007.
So what car you getting? The Jag?
Re: How much do you value your life?
No, it’s an old Mercedes. (I think my Uncle does have a jag, but it hasn’t, er, trickled down yet.)
Re: How much do you value your life?
wait… that’s what I meant. The car that your uncle gave your dad. I was just misremembering. He has a mercedes because your uncle got a jag, right?
BDW lets you know they are gonna bring in ANY name you want to work. Who is it? Whats the finish?
Wow… that’s hard. I always hate favorite type questions cuz I change my mind a dozen times while I’m writing it and then a million afterwards. For now I’m going to say the Human Tornado. Because, I basically lifted his gimmick in a ton of ways. The finish is a dusty finish following a double pimp slap.
What ideas and encouragment can you give to and myself on our efforts to get the Lord Xenu Church off the ground.
Will you and Shima Xion pledge to join in the fight against Scientology?
And what do you think of the first DC One Year Later books?
If I knew how to get a church off the ground then I’d totally have the HOVA’s Witnesses registered by now so that I wouldn’t have to pay taxes.
Oh, I dunno about Shiima, but I totally support your fight. Maybe we’ll have an interfaith mixer or something.
Depends on the book. So far I liked Birds of Prey, really liked Nightwing (which I wasn’t even reading before) and disliked Outsiders. I’m kinda blah on Green Arrow. We’ll see how it goes. I think one of the things that I liked about BOP (besides the fact that I already enjoyed the book) was that it just picks up right in the middle of the story as though I’d simply missed 12 issues, instead of hitting me over the head with “there’s a year missing.” I think its gimmicky, but the idea does intrigue me. We’ll see how it goes.
You need to read AQUAMAN. And then read it real carefully a 2nd time. When you “get” the gimmick, its one fo the coolest thing they’ve done in years
I’ll try to remember to pick one up at Phantom tomorrow.
When are you coming to Boston?
Or at least New York?
Do you still want to go to grad school? What do you expect to get out of it?
What’s your favorite medium of expression and why?
you know, we really have no good excuse not to come visit other than that we’re basically lazy fucks. Steph and I really should go out to at least NYC to visit sometime soon. But we never have all of ambition, time, and reason to do so at the same time. We should totally fix that.
Yes I still want to go to grad school. I just enjoy learning and exploring things. I’d love it if I could do just that from now on out.
My favorite form of expression lately seems to be blogging. But this changes from time to time. Photography is also up there. And of course writing and drawing. But it totally changes with my mood or the season or who knows what.
If you could have sex in/at any place in the world, where and why?
Carmen Electra’s bed? Because hopefully she’d come home and join in.
I dunno, really. I actually really like to have sex in different and exciting places. There’s tons I could think of… In a plane, On a mountain top. The back of a candy apple red ’57 Chevy parked at Inspiration Point. There’s tons of places, and its all about the excitement. So its more that I want to try every different place than any specific one.
But if that Carmen Electra thing comes up…
Hey Sexy!
I certainly appreciate the compliment. No question though?
What, if anything, do you love most about Pittsburgh?
mostly I’m just comfortable here. Despite the gunfire issues of the last 24 hours or so, it’s relatively safe, its a decent mix of big city and small town, and I’ve been here long enough that I know a ton of people. Its also pretty affordable as far as cost of living goes. And I have kick ass parties.
What do you not like about Pittsburgh? (aside from the gunfire issues)
😉
The weather is kinda weird. Unlike a lot of people I really don’t want to live somewhere that’s hot all the time. I kinda like having seasons, but I wish there was a bit more warm weather than there is. It’d also be nice if there was more of a night life, that’d be cool too. Better clubs and the like. And a better economy would be good too, would give more choices of places to work. Of course the more good that’s added the more expensive cost of living would get, and the low cost of living is one of the things I really like about it.
Oh, and I wish there were california blondes… you know… just because…
I like this question/answer thing
You know that certain aspects of Pittsburgh sound good to me too. I like the idea of a “relatively safe, decent mix of big city and small town”
It also helps to know lots of people. I’m not into tropical weather, but the long winters can be depressing. I do like the fact that the cost of living is low.
How is the traffic?
Economy can always be better and it always seems to cycle too, so you never know.
California blondes are always nice to look at too…
I have another question, what do you like most about yourself?
Re: I like this question/answer thing
hey… whenever you want to come visit just let me know…
honestly though, I actually just like the term california blondes… In reality, I’m much more into brunettes and redheads. or both at once… yummm….
umm… where was I?
Oh yeah…
Ummm… I guess I think I’m funny. I think I’m clever and I think I’m pretty trustwrothy and honest. Those are the things I’d say I most like about me.
Re: I like this question/answer thing
I do want to come visit. Our room-mate moved to Swissvale last year. He’s originally from Hanover PA. He likes Pittsburgh, but he’s not making much $$$.
I’d say that the things that you like most about yourself are pretty good characteristics.
Here’s another one….
If you were able to take 3 to 6 months off from work and not have to worry about financial obligations to fill your time, what are some of the things that you think you would most likely find yourself spending time on?
Re: I like this question/answer thing
Wow… a ton of stuff… I’d want to travel all over the world… write… maybe take an art class… drink a lot… develop an opium addiction and descend into a debaucherous life of decadent sex the likes of which the world has never seen before… and maybe read more…
Re: I like this question/answer thing
I think I would probably do much of the same.
You have done so well answering all my questions. Thank you!
Now, do you want to ask ME a question?
Re: I like this question/answer thing
ok… what do you want to do when you grow up?
Re: I like this question/answer thing
This is a good question… one that I grapple with often, especially approaching the age of 36 this year. First, I’m not sure that I WANT to grow up… but, I do know the answer to that question has changed many times over the course of the years.
Veterinarian
Artist
Photographer
Cosmetologist
Rock Star
Graphic Designer
Real Estate Agent… Not in any particular order.
Currently, I’m a Sign maker. I enjoy the work. At one point, I wanted to run my own Sign business. I have been in it for ten years now and I’m ready for a change.
My new love is working on houses. I love remodeling. It’s hard, saticfying work. I come from a family of carpenters and people who worked with thier hands. That may be my next venture.
Through all the transitions though, I still remain an animal lover, music lover, I enjoy photography and old houses. So if I had to tell you what I want to do when I grow up, the answer is still, “not one particular thing”
Re: I like this question/answer thing
yeah, I sometimes think the best answer I can ever come up with for “what do you want to be doing when you grow up?” is “not this” Its very non-specific.
Ok, next question… hmmm…
I know…
You frequently make bisexual references in comments here. How serious are you about them? Hmm… this might play into the next post that I have been kicking around in my head for sometime this week.
Re: I like this question/answer thing
First, let me start by saying that I find beauty in many places. Women are beautiful. I could definitely get it on with a chick, but I don’t think that I would want the relationship aspect that comes with being a lesbian. I would also not want to go with out the male genitalia. But, I think it would be fun to have same-sex relations.
Re: I like this question/answer thing
makes sense… I definitely understand the finding beauty in all places thing. Why does being a lesbian imply any more of a relationship than being straight or bi?
I’m all for you having same-sex relations… can I film it?
Re: I like this question/answer thing
Well it doesn’t imply anything MORE of a relationship. I just wouldn’t want a relationship with a girl. We are high maintenance creatures.
🙂
Re: I like this question/answer thing
yeah, but you’re soft and curvy and nice smelling… its all give and take…
so out of curiosity… what women would you want? what men for that matter?
Re: I like this question/answer thing
It really depends on the personality more than anything. I have dated men all shapes and sizes and they all had good and bad qualities. At this point, I like a guy that makes me laugh and that I can relate to (like John) We can relate to each other in ways that none of our friends can really get. Wierd stuff like insignificant parts in movies. If I were to pick someone out of the blue, based on appearances:
Girl – Selma Hyack or Wynonna Ryder
Guy – Johnny Depp or Lenny Kravitz
Re: I like this question/answer thing
interesting choices… I don’t think I can easily determine what your “type” is from that at all. But I guess that’s the point of “appreciating all beauty” or whatever you said before. It just didn’t give me a good feel for what fit the bill. 🙂
