This is a great self portrait… looks like it tells a lot about you (even if I don’t know you) 🙂
Nice tattoo…

Looks like you could almost be in a prison cell, with the bars, I like this, works well in black and white!

was this an enjoyable holiday? maybe this self portrait is telling us something deeper about your state of mind….

love the light on the arm, and the wall stripes, but would have loved even a hint on the side of your face

Dramatic, moody.

As I found it a brilliant idea I think I am going to start the 1 selfportrait per day thing soon.
Maybe we could create a group or something….
lol said it all before:)
the continuum
I think it is a great idea— I thought you were in prison at first, the shadows make it seems moody, like you are trying to break free-
great job

@rpiker101: As is always the case with self-portraits, I actually took a bunch of these before deciding last night and I kind of agonized over whether to show my face in it or not. I eventually went with this one as much for how well it lit my tattoo ad the sort of mysterious shadow across my face. Thank you for the tip though (and all of them you’ve left on other photos lately).
@kanorama: A group might be a great idea. Depends on if anyone else is interested. I hate when groups are just a waste. Do you know anyone else that would be. As posted in the description, I linked the pic to my blog. So there could be someone trickling in from there as well.
nice shot, love the b&w

Interesting shot, nice composed!

Chris,

@Marcela P.: Thanx, Marcela. You too.

nice idea and a good start for it i reckon. i like the shadows and textures. seems to imply a man somehow trapped in life or something, if you get my drift.
black n white maniacs
it looks like someone in jail…very drammatic atmosphere…
love the touch of light in all those shadows
well conceived. best of luck with your project. 20+ comments
you’re right about the waste, the thing is: Even if we create a group for the two of us, there is no waste as we just will produce 730 something photos….
lets try… I create the group thing…tomorrow….
I am sure a lot will be interested….I’ll invite all my contacts…let’s try….
I sent a message to stephenpoff….
@kanorama: I ended up creating the group myself. 365days. Should be interesting. I also already sent mail to stephen.
brilliant…I sent you a flickrmail…
Chris, me happy for this group…I’ll try to promote it to the max! :

@krissie_p: thankyou very much. Given how much I love some of your photos, I really appreciate that.
November 5th, 2006. I decided to see the first photo of the 365 Days group, it took me time to scroll through 458 pages! Congratulations on such a popular group.
@memaxmarz: Thank you. I hope you are enjoying it.
I sure am, the thought of trying to take a photo for this group that won’t bore my other flickr friends is almost my first thought of the day! I love a challenge.
This should be a pilgrimage for the 365days faithful. A mecca of sorts. Come to Maverick and post at Day 1 and be blessed. Amen.
Very interesting to read the comments from 3 months ago. I like this bit (from Mav):
A group might be a great idea. Depends on if anyone else is interested. I hate when groups are just a waste.
I’d say these concerns have been put to rest. 🙂
Thanks again Mav for starting this group…love having something like this to look forward every single day.
Thank you for inspiring me to step out from behind the lens…
Thanx guys. I’m glad you’re enjoying it.
@dave: yeah, honestly, I am as surprised as anyone. Now I have this secret desire to become famous from all of this.
I’m def. glad too that you started the pool, gives me the drive to keep it up. Otherwise I would loose the track too easy 🙂
I hope this one gets tons of comments. Thanks for starting this "waste of time" Mav! It’s been great so far.
This project has forced me to become a better photographer and develop a social network with other photographers. Thank you so much for all of that.
Thank you guys as well. You’ve helped to make the whole thing a much greater success than if I were just doing it alone.
great silhouette. luv the light on the tatoo. the mood is wonderful.
Seen in It’s_a_Mystery_to_Me!
I love the darkness of this shot…
You started on my son’s birthday.
Almost done…

Seen in your 365 days set. (?)
@Mikey aka DaSkinnyBlackMan: funny. It was also Steph’s birthday.
We are view "973", we just saw it for the first time this evening. Thank you for sharing "you" as the art.
@MWCinCT: thank you for enjoying it.
Thanks Chris, Kanorama, and stephenpoff. I went looking for the photo that started this popular project. A historic photographic. Thanks
@goplacia: You’re welcome. Thank you for coming to check it out.

When you posted this shot, who would have thought that you would still be doing the 365 think 800 plus days later. You are one of the two who have stuck to this longer than I have……
@picaday: yeah. It’s pretty crazy.
What an awesome idea, I will let it simmer in my brain for a while
14th Feb 2009, 37871 pages in, what a great idea, did you finish?
First picture in th series… how amazing that must feel! Congrats. 🙂
