day 4 of my 365 days project.

The neat thing about this whole process is the evolution of ideas. On day one, as soon as I decided to do the project I knew exactly the shot I wanted to start with. I had the ideas for day 2 and 3 both during day 1, so I had them well planned before I ever started shooting. I had some other ideas but none of them were really feasible for tonight. Sure I had the rest of the day to work on it, but I wanted to shoot around a bit after midnight just in case. In doing so I came up with kinda a half-assed idea. Started working on it. And decided that it was actually maybe 3/4-assed, but I’d go ahead with it anyway. Anyway, then just as I was wrapping up I came up with this idea, and here we are. I like it much better. I don’t know that its a work of art, but somehow at 1:21am after a beer I just find it cute and funny.

No mirrors. No photoshop. And that is me taking this very picture at that very moment. 2 points if you know how.

In any case, there we have it, and as always, if you’re interested in joining the 365 days photo project go to the flickr pool and sign up. The more the merrier.

2 cameras and a mirror, you’re shooting the reflection of the 2nd camera screen in a mirror????

The camera must be connected to your computer and you shoot your screen! I can’t think of anything else…

But I really do like the idea! Great shot. Hope your 365 project will be a smashing hit!

Now that I rethink my theory I see that it’s not all water tight…
Real great idea you’ve had! You may want to title your picture ‘The Riddle’

Hooked up to your television?? Ahhh, the things we do after booze in the wee hours…I like merlot 🙂 but my hubby should really hide the camera from me after I’ve had a few. Now I really want to know how you did this…C’mon, tell us 🙂

@Pink Sherber Photography: You are by far the closest by far. Not quite there, but very close. Wow. I htought for sure this would be really obvious and everyone would think it was stupid.

A video camera is hooked up to your computer. The photograph is of the computer screen showing the live video feed.

Gee whiz, Chris, that’s really stupid! (kidding)

@phlewght: and you got it! Actually the video camera is hooked up to a TV not the computer, but that’s a meaningless detail. I’m actually pleased it wasn’t so obvious that everyone knew. I thought it was hokey when I did it and everyone would get it right away.

reading your lines… i dont plan things. i try out and THEN the ideas come… that’s my way. most times i see the things only through a lens or in the shot when it’s already been taken. sometimes – very few times though – i have something in my mind and then try to illustrate it with a certain capture. i like the other way better because it is part of my "self-finding"-thing. 🙂 i am glad you started this !!!
