Day 61 of 365 days.

I actually had kind of a photoshoppy idea for today, but then I wasn’t really in the mood. Had my weekly poker game tonight, and after having an early commanding lead for quite a while, but after a couple bad breaks I ended up getting eliminated first. That’s just how it goes. Anyway, I was feeling lazy and ended up going for a straight self portrait of me and my beer. Beer, the salvation of men’s souls.

    Mmmmmm, beer.

I just pulled a few up from the basement to put in the fridge tonight. I still have like 2 cases from my trip to Germany this past summer.

your gaze is pretty intense here, Mav. i like the detail of your face here. you don’t show it like this very often.

i don’t know that i’d call it "salvation" but definitely a "mood relaxant". yeah, i can’t tell what type of beer you’re drinking…definitely no ad time for you 🙂 i hope you enjoyed it…whatever it was 🙂

@jim: mmm beer is right. Though 2 cases doesn’t last that long around these parts.

@mild seven lights: it all depends. If I’m out at a bar I get lots of different stuff, especially if its a bar with microbrews on tap. I can’t stand non-alcoholic beer. At least none that I have ever had. But usually at home we buy Yuengling.

@sashala: thank you, maybe I’ll try to oblige mor eoften
. honestly it just never occurs to me.

@jen: it was a yuengling. You’re right next time I’ll have to try harder to get the sponsor’s logo in. 🙂

@marcela and mild seven lights: You both say you can’t have beer anymore? Why not?

I’ve been in Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan for the last six months and alcohol is banned.
there non alcoholic beer but that makes me cry
    but two days! two days!
and I can drink beer again! (YEAH!!!)
definately try some Yuengling when i get home.
till then little beer cans on aeroplanes
got to beat David Boon’s (oz cricketeer) record of most amount of beer
drunk on a aeroplane. It was 32 stubbies on a trip to England
i’m up for the challenge 🙂

I am glad to see that Yeungling is around these parts, too! I always love a good drinking shot! Did I mention that I also love poker and beer???

    @shannon:

poker – we play every wednesday night, and we’re always looking for new people.

beer – yep, yuengling is brewed in PA. On the other side of the state (maybe 5.5 hours from here) but its available in like every bar around here.

@jill: You think? I considered it kinda a throwaway.Didn’t really think all that much of it.

  16. October 13, 2006 at 11:02 am

@marcela: you? lose weight? and get down to what 50 lbs?

  17. October 13, 2006 at 3:15 pm

This is a great shot Mav – you look kind of scared though – what’s to fear when a man has his beer in hand?!

Also… I think i’m going to challenge you to take a multiplicity some time this week…. 😀

@rachel: eek. Now I’m feeling the pressure. I’ll try to put something together.
