Back to black and white. It was storming outside since this afternoon. And I thought GREAT! Because I keep wanting to get a good pic taken in a storm. unfortunately, by the time I got home from work it had both slowed up and was too dark to really get the rain to show up. I mean sure I could digitally add it in post, but I wanted something more real looking. So instead I decided to play with shadow a bit.
om
I love this. The black and white give it a spooky foreboding feeling. Great shot!
@headcase: thank you. I was afraid it was just too silly.
The BSG score was the perfect soundtrack for all that swirly dark pre-storm windiness we had.
@max: do you have it?
I like this — feels cinematic and foreboding, like headcase said. What’s waiting up the street, we wonder? And that’s what your character is wondering, too.
Or maybe we know, and it’s, "What have I done?!" Very Noir.
thanx. I dunno. I felt somehow that it just felt rushed and lame. Like a fill-in picture. Which it totally was, of course, but I was hoping it would be more.
Wow ,loads of atmosphere,love it!
The shrub behind your head makes it look like you have a funky ‘fro.
i really like this shot…and gragsie beat me to it–that shrub is placed "just so" and it really looks like you’ve got a massive fro happenin’…killa!!! have fun w/ your shadow friend 😉
Brilliant image, Chris! I love it! You’re an artist!
I really love it! I noticed it in the thumbnails of the group pool immediately.
😀
i like this shot a lot…. how did you manage to put the camera so far away from yourself, timer to 1 minute? remote control? great atmosphere. it looks like out of a movie to me again…
thanx everyone.
@gragsie and jen: Yeah, I noticed that too… but not til after I had already taken the shot. *sigh*
@assbach: actually, I’m only maybe 20-30 feet from the camera, so I just used the 10 second timer and ran. I had to take the shot a few times to get it right though.
this pic is so weird… i think the shadow makes you look out of proportion to the sidewalk or something… really neat.
