I actually like this shot a lot. Its kind of weird as I wasn’t really feeling very creative today until I actually got in front of the camera. Then I really wanted to get something nice. I’m really starting to like the high contrast black and white pictures and I think I’ll be experimenting with them more in the future. In any case, I’ve also noticed something else.I tend to take pictures of myself on the left side. I wonder if I subconsciously think it’s my "good side." I’m certainly not doing it on purpose, but looking through my photos, its pretty clear that I do it a lot.
om
reminds me of "the thinker"…. I like this! : )
Ah, she beat me too it. Sooooooo what ya thinkin bout???
So here is the right side. Cool. Nicely lit for the high contrast. Great pose, too.
We’ve hit 70! Wahoo! I just left a note for theshyfox, who along with you and me hasn’t missed a day. Am I forgetting anyone? soartsyithurts has 70 also, but she must have posted some for Aug. 12-15 after-the-fact, as her Day 1 was the 16th.
The Thinker, you say?
I’m liking the high contrast b & w photos too.
Oh, and I almost always photograph the left side of my face. It’s totally my "good" side.
Great photo!

Others have beat me to the thinker comparison. Nice shot. I love B&W too.
The high contrast really adds something here…would like a little emphasis on the eye (burning/dodging)

What a brilliant light sculpture. You make for a compellingly bold subject.
Excellent shot… but IMHO I would consider croppoing off the right side to eliminate the lights of the arm since it does not add too much detail anyway… this will bring the focus back to the excellent lighting on the face.
Keep up the fresh vision.

Really fantastic shot, Mav! I also really did the high contrast b/w shots.
And I recently noticed that I favor one side also! How odd, huh?

Sometimes our best work just happens when we are not trying to be creative. It just flows. Nice work!
Killer.
