Day 98 of 365 days.

Another one of those days where I decided I might try something new and different. Another one of those new and different ideas that didn’t turn out quite how I wanted but is at least somewhat interesting. I think it may even be better than the original idea.

So this was made by sticking my hand on my scanner and scanning it. I got to thinking that I never really use my scanner much and there had to be a good way to get it into this project. So I tried to scan my face. Unfortunately, that didn’t work to well because if the top of the scanner isn’t closed nothing really comes out (too much ambient light, i guess). So I enventually settled for scanning my hand. The effect is certainly… well… lets say interesting.

It reminds me of a scary movie – almost looks like bloody hands on a locked door trying to get out.

that is actually very cool…i like it a lot! it could be for a movie poster?

try putting one of the black sheets that you use for your studio over your head and scan your face that way…should cut out the ambient light that is unwanted and may produce a cool effect (but this is simply a guess, since i don’t have, nor have used, a scanner).
