I’ve been doing a lot of day in the life shots lately. In fact, in the last few days I’ve done two shots of me eating. I actually considered doing a shot of me installing Steph’s new car stereo. I took one shot, didn’t like it, and decided that I wanted to do something a little different. More formal. So after my shower I decided to go down to the basement studio for another fun filled evening of learning to do more with light. I recently picked up some more photography books on lighting tricks, and I decided it might be cool to go down and try to find some way of really featuring my wet hair. But then I got to playing and I do just love those intense shadows. So this is what I came up with. It’s kind of interesting using the heavy shadow contrasted against a white backdrop instead of a black, like I usually use. I actually really like the effect. Again I am struck that I need more models to work with than just myself. And I need more time. And even more lights. Blah. If everyone in 365 sent me just $10, I bet I could stop working for like 2 years and be be awesome. Oh well.
om
I like the lighting in this one…I thought of Phantom of the Opera.
BTW, I visited Pittsburgh this weekend and had an AWESOME time.
This effect is addicting. I’m sure you’ve seen how I rely on it far too much in my work.
Wow, very intense… !
This is a great photo!
Love the messy hair evil look thingie u got going on there …
I always enjoy pictures that stress on light and shadow 🙂
Two thumbs up
Well, I brought you some wine, and I’ll do it again sometime, does that count??
I love the shadows, too!
That is some hair. Very tactile-inducing-make-me-want-to-touch-it.
Cool lighting, Mav, and an irrepressible attitude!
