Yep, I’m definitely getting sick. Oh well.
Today marks the completion of one third of this project. I wanted to mark it with something dynamic. I actually came up with this idea a couple days ago, but wanted to save it til today to mark the occasion. I’m glad I did, as it was a trickier shot to get than I hoped. I actually had to take several shots to get it right and even then I combined two different shots to actually get the proper effect I wanted. I wish there were some way I could have planned things to control what cards were flying through the air and which one was in my hands when the shutter went off. I mean, I could have faked it in photoshop, I guess, but this looks a little more natural.
Woot! A third into it!
Great idea for a shot and well done…I love the effect!
I was SO going to do this shot today too!!! Good job!
Very cool idea Mav. It looks really excellent. Just curious, which card would you have preferred to have showing in your hand?
Very cool…great idea and it came out really well. Congrats on the third.
I went ahead and did my copycat –
Yes, it looks pretty cool…..
congrats on 1/3, sorry you’re getting sick!
Now, I really have a hankering (lol) to play some poker!!!
Very cool shot! The determination in your face is great!
i have tried this time and time again… i dont think i will ever get it to look as good as you and the monkey…
I think you’re supposed to use Maya or Alias or something to fake it, really. Maybe Shake?
Thanx everyone.
@Jim: I dunno. The Ace of Spades maybe? Some face cards? Something like that.
@Krissie: Try a slightly longer exposure. That helped me a bit. Monkey also used a flash.
@Jer: Yeah, I could have faked it a ton of different ways, but I was trying to catch it with a real shot.
I would’ve guessed the King of Hearts or Ace of Spades depending on the mood.
Here’s my attempt:
Great shot, the motion in the cards is a great effect
Hi, I’m an admin for a group called The 52 Card Pickup, and we’d love to have your photo added to the group.
