Day 126 of 365 days.

Merry Christmas to me!

To paraphrase the great poet and philosopher Eric Cartman, "I have a PS3. Who wants to touch me?"

I went to Electronics Boutique to buy a birthday present for a friend of mine today. While there, I happened to get into a conversation with the salesman about the Playstation 3 and was informed that despite the general belief that they’re sold out all across the country, they had gotten a shipment today. A shipment of two. He had sold one five minutes before I walked in the store and the other was sitting in the back still. Realizing that it could be months before I had another chance to pick up one, I decided I had to buy it as an early Christmas present to myself.

A lot of people consider the PS3 to be way too expensive for a video game system. Honestly, it probably is. But as mentioned before, I sort of have this addiction to movies. So what I really wanted was a Blu-Ray player. I would have bought one, one way or the other, no matter what. It turns out that the Playstation 3 is the cheapest Blu-Ray Player on the market by about $200. So to me, I feel like I’m saving money.

Yeah, I’m nuts. But I have a PS3!

I’m gonna pass on touching you. But, I do admire you rationalization for buying one as a cheap blu-ray player.

Very awesome. I’m pretty sure they are losing money on those babies…there’s a LOT in there fore the price.

I’ll have to be happy with my xbox 360 for now. But I do have some HD-DVD envy, for sure.

Oh, the coveted PS3. Have fun! I’m a Wii girl. It is so much fun…

Ooooh, lucky you! My husband and I just bought an xbox as a mutual present and 4 games. We are so out of the loop and don’t have a lot of cash, so we got a refurbished regular xbox for a good price. 😀

I want to know….now what do you do with your PS2 and all those games? Does this one play the PS2 games, too?

    Thanx all… I know you’re very jealous.

@sarah: I actually don’t play that many video games. And the ones I do play are either just Sony or on all systesms, so the Xbox is no good for me.

@shan: yeah, it plays PS2 games too. And PS1 games for that matter.

    Ooooh………..

I’m not really jealous, ’cause I have missed out on most of the last 12 years or so of video games. We still have a working Sega Genesis console — cartridges only; not a CD-rom one — and a bunch of game cartridges.

    Great shot displaying "covet; MINE"!!!!!!

    Xbox360 for the win.

well, i played them when i was a young girl (7-12) but really stopped playing them for a while after that. occassionally i’ll hit up a Ms Pac-Man or something like that, we’ve got that little $10 joystick game that comes with Pole Position, Ms Pac Man, Galaga and one other that I don’t know. So…I think it’s great that you rationalized buying it….it makes sense to me…and i’m always very practical…just ask shannon!
so, merry christmas to mav…hope you enjoy it!!!
