Day 130 of 365 days.
I’ve had a monster headache most of the day today. Honestly I considered just tossing a lame backup shot as the picture for today, but since I kind of had a cop out picture yesterday, I decided that i really needed to put something good on today. Then I realized. If my head hurt so much, why not try to capture that.
I’ve used digitial color filters before, but not in a while. Somehow, I felt that this slight cool blue really set the mood of this picture. Hopefully the painkillers will kick in soon.

a definite fave mav! though i’m sorry it comes at the cost of a massive headache…i hope it goes away quickly (nothing seems to be taking mine away….it’s been coming and going in waves for a few days now…but i’ll take the headache over the other illnesses going around right now!)

It’s easy to see you’re in pain, the photo reflects that very well.
You did a good job with the light settings, maybe more face and less hands would work even better but nothing to critisice really.

Good composition, the tight crop and angle are well chosen. I feel there is a slight lack of sharpness in some areas of the picture but the lighting is excellent.

Great lighting and mood. A good and solid self-portrait – conveys exactly what it says on the tin!
For me, I’m a little distracted by the hand – takes a little away from the eyes and face, and I agree with the comment about the slight lack of sharpness – but I suppose that could relate to the "headache feeling" of being "blurred".

I totally sympathize about the headache. I get them quite a lot and when you’ve got one you really can do nothing at all but sit in a darkened room, It’s totally frustrating! Thankfully this particular headache has produced a peach of a portrait. The choice of colour was inspired and the shadow works really well. Theres a lot of feeling in your expression too. It’s not often I fave a portrait but in this case I’m happy to make an exception! Very nice work indeed. 🙂
