Day 132 of 365 days.

It was such a long day. it started out ok. Went to work, made plans to go over and exchange presents with a friend this evening, came home, and then my troubles began. Supposedly I should be able to get high definition feeds of the local Pittsburgh channels through my satellite company (DishNetwork) now. I was excited, so i called them up to see what they needed to do. They looked into it and said that they needed give me a new dish (something they were supposed to do this summer but ended up not doing for no good reason) and they made an appointment to do so for a week from tomorrow. But then when I went to watch TV all of my standard definition local channels went away. They told me that they couldn’t make an appointment for me without temporarilly cancelling the channels until the appointment. I told them nevermind, then I’d do it some other time. Of course then they couldn’t put the channels back. I went through like 5 customer service people until one finally said "oh, we shouldn’t have turned them off without asking you because now we have no way of turning them back on until we install the new dish. I don’t believe them but there’s really nothing I can do. So now Steph and I are stuck without local television until the 30th. The satellite guys have offered me ten whole dollars for my troubles.

I hate people.

I hated Dish Network. When we moved into our house, we switched from cable to the dish because it appeared to be cheaper. Well, it really wasn’t. But, more importantly we hated the problems we always had with customer service, losing the signal during storms, and no local weather on the Weather Channel. Just really a lot of things were very crappy with the dish. We switched back to cable the minute our one year contract was over and have never regretted it a bit.

@Jim: honestly, 99% of the time I’m actully completely ok with it. In fact my satisfaction level is WAY higher than it was for cable. And here, it is definitely cheaper. That said, customer service really sucks, and when something lik ethis happens it really pisses me off.

That is so annoying! And right before Christmas! Bastards.
Like 10 bucks is supposed to make up for your troubles. You should demand to talk to a supervisor…it always works. You could get a month free if you push for it.

I can understand why you are so annoyed. It it helped you get in the mood for this shot, it may be a small consalation to let you know the shot turned our very well.
I found this photo, because you asked me to Explore My Photostream (LEAVE 3 COMMENTS/FAVS)
