For some reason I thought it’d be a good idea today to attempt to really capture a single moment. Something that I pretty much never do. Take one shot and just hope its perfect. I did it and got home and looked at the shot and its not as perfect as I’d like. That’s the reason I never do this. Tomorrow, I’m back to being all anal about taking 80 shots and only using the best one.
Anyway, one of my best friends had his birthday and we went out to dinner with him and other friends at one of our favorite sushi joints. If I were being my normal self I would have worked to make sure the sushi was in perfect focus and I would have had steph bokeh’d more than she is, but alas it was not to be. I do like how I am barely in the picture though. I need to do that sort of incidental self-portrait style more often.
i think this is great! perfect the way that it is 😉 and i just <3 sushi….i could eat it every day!!!
This is lovely – I like the sort of ‘storytelling’ feel to it.
Nice depth of field. Know what you mean about getting the perfect shot, I can be so picky with my photos : P
Must try Sushi one day…
Have a good Christmas!
Love sushi. This captures the mood perfectly.
See, I feel like it’s not so much about the sushi, but about your hand, and Steph’s face. These are the conversational gestures our bodies make without realizing it. The picture seems to be about the company, the interaction between people; the dinner seems secondary.
