When I first started this project I had very real concerns as to whether or not I’d be able to hit every single day for a year. I was very much afraid that I would conk out and just stop caring after a week. Now, 145 days in, taking a self portrait every day has simply become a part of my life. I know some people who have undergone the project will sometimes forget to take a picture, but I simply can’t "forget." Really, I spend tons of my freetime trying to figure out what I’m going to do for any given day. Really, I worry that any given shot might not be creative enough and I disappoint myself when I have to use one of my backup ideas. I can’t believe what a huge part of my life this has become and how its forced me to think in different ways creatively just to keep myself interested. At this point, I can’t imagine stopping even after the year is up.
om
Beautiful. And I just started and I still don’t know how people stop and shit ;
Good job on the ‘cartoon you’! :oD
This is a cool effect =)
Simply amazing
I love this…it’s so awesome!!! I have the same concerns about creativity. This is very creative…you have lots of creative shots in your set.
well done mav.
very Lichtenstein.
Keep ’em coming, man! I look forward to seeing you everyday in my "Photos from your Contacts" section!
Very cool. Another great pic from you.

O man you are good at this. keep it up
I am exactly the same mate, 365 is now a major part of my life and I agree with your thoughts about ideas, I feel very disheartened if I can’t come up with something interesting each day.
Whats great is that we have this little ‘365’ group who aid and support each other on a daily basis, I class you in my little group as are a number of talented and varied photographers. Keep it up man and goodluck. Matt xxx
way to go! 145 is a lot!! you’re pushing half way- you’re the pioneer, inspiration, icebreaker for all of us. Now that you’ve got thousands(!?) of followers, you must lead us onward to the end!
And you have great ideas and take great pictures.

Love the shot and the whole comic-book feel to it~ so MAV. 😉
Totally agree..this has become such a huge part of my life and a wonderful addition. I don’t think I will stop after a year either. I have learned so much through this group! I say that all the time, but it is true…about people, about photography, about myself. It has boosted my confidence on many levels. And the people in the group are the coolest, sweetest, most supportive around.
You should be so proud to have started this group, Mav.
This is great! You should totally have your own comic book.
thank you everyone.
@ms. tea: thanx, I’ve been a big fan of his for years. That’s what I was going for. Maybe I’ll take more shots in the style of other favorite artists.
@Sarah: yeah, its crazy. Even when I don’t have an idea, like now, I’m constantly thinking about it in the back of my head.
@wwcutie: I’ve tired before. It’s a lot of hard work.
whoa! this is excellent!
you know what, i think it’s cool that you’re still shooting after 145 days! amazing isn’t it? keep it up 😀
Cool effect!
I could really relate to your words there too.The 365 project has become a huge part of my life now.It may be crazy but I seem unable to leave the house without my camera "just in case" theres some cool idea out there.I`m learning all the time, improving everyday-cheers for setting off this group dude!
I’m not even at day 50 yet and already I can’t imagine not taking a picture of myself every day. This is a great shot, I love the cartoon you!
Damn this is cool! Like you, I haven’t missed a day yet and can’t imagine doing it. Of course I don’t agonize over whether or not my shots are creative enough. but, that’s not my goal. You however, are doing great!
I was going to say, if you were to quit or forget a day I’d be in shock for a while.
You’re my rock man! The one constant in my life! =P
Seriously though, I’m the same way about killing myself to be creative. Mainly because I do plan to turn this into a book someday, just for me and any future family, and I’d hate to have to say "Yeah, about 30-40 of those really suck". It’s a small percentage of the project, but that’s still quite a few photos.
Right now out of the 78 I’ve done I only dislike about 4-5.
I just started with the 52 weeks pool and can’t imagine how creative (or manic) you must be to think of something fresh every day! Nice work!
i wanted to write a comment days ago… it’s not that there wouldn’t be enough! this is very outstanding and creative. great cartoon too!
