Spent this afternoon with my very lovely friend Vanessa doing a photoshoot. There’s a funny thing about doing a photoshoot with a pretty girl. Every girl ever has problems believing they are actually attractive. Even women who know they’re attractive have problems believing it. So after a few years photographing people, I’ve learned the biggest secret to glamour photography. It isn’t lighting, or getting the right pose. It isn’t choosing the right lens or having a great makeup artist. It’s not even starving the model and mainlining her heroin. Sure, all of that stuff is important, but none of it is the most important.
The most important part is flirting. The secret to taking a gorgeous portrait of a woman is making her believe that she’s the hottest woman on the planet. And if you can make her believe it, she will be.

Yep – I do feel a billion times better about myself when a guy (or a girl) flirts with me – and I use the term ‘flirt’ rather loosely. When some skank-ass guy leans out his car window and howls at me when I’m out for a walk with my son, it still makes me feel good about myself.
I couldn’t wait to get to the bottom to read your "secret" and you know I think it’s a good one. There is a lot of truth to that, for sure! Can’t wait to see the shots.
