As I’ve said before, I never really considered how big this whole 365 Days thing would get when I started it. At this very moment there are 2,562 members in a group that I never honestly thought would have 30. I have no way of checking for sure, but by all accounts its one of the most watched groups on Flickr. That popping sound you hear is my head exploding. In any case, its almost become a job to keep the group running smoothly. A job I enjoy, but its a job. One of my least favorite parts of the job is going through the photo pool and sweeping out what we have come to call "floaters." Photos that are off topic either due to a person not understanding the groups purpose or from spammers just trying to get their photos in as many groups as possible to get more views. I suppose I could just stop caring, but one of the things that I think makes the group helpful is that it has a dedicated purpose that so many people are now in to. So I persevere.
I recently joined JPG magazine and submitted a couple pics for the most recent issue. Please by all means go vote for them. One is from 365 a while back. The other is from a photoshoot with my friend Lisa. I’m kind of interested in the whole JPG magazine thing. They sent me email about their process and I’m wondering if I should also try to put together an article and submit it for publication.
beautiful pics you submitted. also, you continue to do a great job with the group and your pictures. love the dof on this one, the monitor is so clear!
Thank you for all your hard work on the group. I for one am learning so much from it – and not just about photography but about learning to accept myself as well, and that is more cool than I can tell you. (I’ll stop being mushy now.)
maybe you should put some legwork into a job with JPG?? just a thought…have no idea where they’re based from and have no clue if there is anything you could do for them….but i bet there is…and you’re on the job hunt (kinda).
thanks for being a strong leader for your group mav…i know i accepted some responsibilities for a short while but had to give them up….my little guy needs me more than this group! dave’s been a blessing i suppose…maybe you just need 1 or 2 more recruits to help you keep up?
Definitely put together an article.
You HAVE to run with this, Mav.
Run like the wind!
thanx guys. I appreciate your support as well.
@Jen: Don’t worry about it. When you can help out again, you will, and if you never can again, that’s fine too. I’m glad to have met you as a new friend in any case. And actually, I did make a few more people admins. It’s helped a lot.
