Generally I don’t really like to repeat the same basic shot two days in a row (unless I plan ahead for a good reason, like with my day 182 and day 183 shots), but the dichotomy of today just made this too perfect. Yesterday I was in a room of psychologists who apparently amuse themselves during their off-time by talking about work and trying on big pairs of shoes.
Today, however I was at a wrestling show, and how do we amuse outselves backstage? By playing a cut-throat game of Apples to Apples. Oh yeah baby!
It was a hard fought match, and I really thought I was going to pull it out in the end, but sadly I couldn’t keep it together and I lost. Perhaps next time.
Oh, ummm… I think I won my wrestling match and I’m still tag champ.
You think you won? You don’t know? Weren’t you there?
Obviously, I’m confused.

Seen on your photo stream. (?)
what game is this?
Never heard of this game….but it already sounds better than the party you were at yesterday, which sounded horrifically lame in your description, and I don’t even mind doing ‘lame’ sometimes! 😉
And yeah, I’m with your mom…you ‘think’ you won?
@lrayholly: Well, ok… actually, I know I won. But I was trying to make a joke implying the apples to apples game was far more important.
@Jack Scoresby: Its actually pretty fun. Everyone has 7 pink cards with nouns on them. And then someone picks a green card with an adjective. Then everyone picks one of their nouns to go with it, and whoever has the funniest combination wins the green card. The game ends when someone gets 8 green cards. It’s even better when you’re drunk. Which none of us were, but we had all just been dropped on our heads.
@sadandbeautiful (Sarah): To be fair, the other people at the party probably thought it was a lot less lame than I did. But as I said yesterday, a big part of the lamosity was that I didn’t know anyone, and for the most part no one put any real effort in including me in the conversation, so I spent the evening planning out tarot card shots on my smartphone. Also, I throw parties where there are costume contests, live bands, people stripping, kissing contests and the occasional person breathing fire. "Have you tried walking in the big shoes?" just isn’t really my speed.
oh… sorry, didn’t mean to ruin the joke 🙁
@lrayholly: no biggee.
wow, Apples to Apples is sweeping the nation! Really, it’s a peculiar meme. Cool!
I was remarking to myself today that I rarely come across you or the other charter- 365day-ers on accident anymore, when I just drop in to the group. And it just happened just now!
Happy 200days, too! Amazing that you are there already. I’m six weeks behind you. I’m still loving the project!
@lalalaa Dolce Vita: yeah, there are so many people now that I don’t regularly see anyone in the pool. its actually nice that way. It exposes you to more people’s work.
i LOVE apples to apples. I love how the adjectives always seem to fit the people who win them. 🙂
Love that game!!
@hunts-momma: you think? I am not at all "puffy"
@bluerain!: yeah, its fun.
You know, for some reason,I really like this.
@david_porter: I guess it is kinda colorful. Thanks, and thanks for the fave.
yeah for still being a champ!!! you’re always a champ in our eyes 😉
@pi c’s: awwww shucks… thanx, hun’ 🙂
I do have to say that I adore Apples to Apples. Flying Monkeys as a trump card just makes everything in life better.
@mickeysacks: I did in fact have and use the Flying Monkeys card in that game.
Apples to Apples is one of my favorite games. I ended up getting the set in the wooden crate that includes the original and a few expansions. Fun shot!
@SydB42: Cool. I don’t have my own copy, but lots of my friends do.
Looks like a strange game….
@sassyshannon999: it is, a bit… but its really fun.
