You know, I almost want to call this a bringing sexy back pic? What do you people think?
I got to sleep in today. It was nice and I needed it. After I finally did get up, I did a little bit of the moving from our current bedroom to our new one. Still a WHOLE lot to do, but at least I can say I started it.
After that I went with Steph and her family to a local park to hang out. Frick Park actually used to be one of my favorite locations in Pittsburgh to take pictures, and I was looking forward to it, because I knew that I’d be able to get this shot there. Kind of my homage to the troll under the bridge (and a reasonable natural frame shot for this weeks Class with Dave assignment). I love these little pipe tunnels. Always have, but I’ve never take my own picture in them before. Maybe one day, I’ll get rid of all my worldly possessions and move under a bridge. There’s something very romantic about it, I think.
@A.D.C: its actually not nearly as desolate as it looks. It’s just a creative angle of shooting that makes it so you can’t see the swingset and slides that are 15 feet from where I am sitting. Glad you like it. Thank you.
Cool framed shot. I kinda had the same idea. We’ll see what I come up with.

Seen in my contacts’ photos. (?)
@Sick Little Monkey: cool. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Hey, what do you think of the partial desat?
Good image! Lots of bridges in Schenley Park!
@Nor757: Yeah, I just really like that one in Frick. I think its just the right size for portraits. Thanks.
Nice photo Chris, but it would creep me out, sitting inside of that pipe…shutters. As for the desat, I don’t think it would be half as cool any other way. That desolate look calls for it.
@lrayholly: like I said, its all in the way I shot it. Actually, It’s not creepy in real life at all. I’m seriously 10-15 feet from a swing set.
I like it! I have been thinking in the same direction, but haven’t found anything yet so who knows what I might end up with.

@KatColorado: thank you. I hope you find something that works for you.
you are incredibly sexy. This is so totally hot.
@mickeysacks: thank you… *blush* 🙂
if i took my little guy to that playground and saw you sitting in the pipe like this….i’d probably leave and come back later. no offense….it’s not that you don’t look sexy…but it would creep me out a bit ;-P
and, i do LOVE the desat for this….you sexy thang!
@pi c’s: really, I did it on purpose. I swear. There’s actually three tubes in a row, and there are kids all over the place. In fact, there are a bunch in the tube on the left that I just cropped out. And thank you. 🙂
Well, you know that I feel the same way about moving under a bridge….ever since seeing "Dark Days", they lived pretty phat and I am sure with some imagination….well, you’d do very well!
@sassyshannon999: heh… I dunno. It was a passing fancy. Dark Days didn’t look like all that much fun to me.
Why do so many people find those big pipes creepy? Is it only those of us who grew up in the Rust Belt (I’m from Cleveland) that are used to these being a park fixture? There are so many parks with these in it, and we used to climb up in them…those and big tires, which are super awesome to hide in.
I love Pittsburgh, and you’re so close! Please tell me you love Kennywood as much as I do!
And yes, good picture with natural frame, but maybe sexy back would’ve been a different positioning of your body.

@owauno: actually, I find kennywood kinda boring. But I grew up 20 minutes from Cedar Point, so I’m maybe a little harder to please than average.
I might have to cry a little bit right now. I worked at Cedar Point for four years, and I have to say, "BLEH!" Such high, fast, BORING coasters! No shade, long lines, really expensive tickets…oh, and the live entertainment is of course, better…but Kennywood has that so-bad-it’s-good thing going…and the fries at Kennywood…HEAVEN! You sir, are a crazyman.

@owauno: to each their own, I guess.
Love this idea.. it looks great.

@decembre71: yeah, I like how it turned out. Thank you.
totally reminds me of old-school schoolyard fun… we’d crawl through tunnels, hide out during recess… this is a nice shot!
@amanky: yeah, I think it’d be great for a game of hide and seek. Thanx.
