Initially I had envisioned the devil having traditional horns, and I probably could have created some pretty realistic ones in photoshop or maybe with theater makeup, but in retrospect, I’m kind of glad I didn’t. I really like the look of the single model bathed in red light except for the flaming hand. I think more would have been distracting.
This also shows that there are indeed men in the Tarot deck. It’s only the second male card I’ve done. Its actually a little harder to find male models for this kind of thing than I thought it would be. I also need to get some more of the less gothic cards done. Just so that there’s a little more variety. The cards with Steph and Theresa show a little more playfulness, but its still on the dark side right now.
I’m a big fan of seeing people’s various interpretations of the devil. I think you did an excellent job. It’s obvious who he is supposed to be without being blatantly in your face.
That classic Frankenstein tat is pretty cool too.

Damn, this deck’s shaping up nice!
@Sick Little Monkey: yeah, I think that he has just enough ink to be a good devil, without overdoing it.
@MegaBee: thanks
These are turning out so great! and the expression on his face is perfect….I can’t wait to see more!
@*boheme*: thanks. I’m turning them out as fast as I can. 🙂
I love this one….how fortuitous that she brought him along! 😉
@sadandbeautiful (Sarah): well, actually, I knew she was bringing him and that i was going to use him from when i had talked to her before. It wasn’t total coincidence. But I pretty much only knew what he looked like from myspace pics.
LOVE this~! Whoo, hot. Perfect for the devil card!! His eyes are piercing!

@lalalaa Dolce Vita: thank you. I think his squint was perfect, though I will admit that I did digitally recolor his eyes. I’m actually rather proud of that… i think it adds just the right subtle touch.
This is wow, incredible! Unfortunately (for him) and Fortunately (for you) he makes a great Devil!
@lrayholly: yeah, well quite convenient that he has red skin and a flaming hand, isn’t it? I mean, he was born to play that part. 🙂
well done mav!! i like this one 😉
@pi c’s: thank you. I was kind of unsure how people would feel about the odd color choices. Glad you like it.
I love this project!
@βonne: thank you
well, frankly I’m glad his eyes aren’t actually that color, that might be freaky! But the look is great, and you did the color just right. Really creepy and HOT. 🙂

Thanks all, those comments is sweet 😉
@lalalaa Dolce Vita: again. I’m quite glad you like it. Thank you.
@Schweí Übersteigen: and thank you for posing and for the fave.
This one is perfect – he has that wonderful seductive impish look that I think signifies the temptation of taking the road that is the most pleasurable but not the wisest – and the beauty of it is that even if it’s not the WISEST choice, it might the one choice one will treasure later in life… The Devil indeed – I’m SO glad there are no horns, and I love that he has those tattoos – makes me feel like he is just a "human" like me or you – the devil in diguise… beautiful.
@Baroness Nordmark: yes, I think one of the hardest things in any artistic project is to resist the temptation to overdo something. I had more in mind for this, but when I got ot a point where I could see the card was "done" I had to force myself to stop there, so that it wasn’t too much. I’m glad you like it. Thank you.
Very powerfull!! Waow!!
@Le Mat 121: thank you.
