Today was tarot card processing day. That’s pretty much what I did all day. I now have 20 cards done in the Maverick Tarot set.
I wanted to see what the cards will ultimately look like so I printed them out on my inkjet. Now I need to buy more ink, but I am pretty happy with the look. I’m more and more excited about this every day.
Are you writing the booklet for them too?
@Kungfukitten: yeah, I’ve been thinking I maybe I should do that too… I dunno… some decks have that some don’t
That’s pretty sweet! You should be quite pleased!
@lrayholly: I’ll be more pleased when they’re all done and printed professionally on card stock, but this is a good start.
I think you’ll have to do a book, especially because you are printing descriptive words on the cards! You have to go into detail and explain why, for example, The Moon means anxiety when my deck says change or deception. Not that one is right or wrong, but the symbolism you choose for your cards needs to be explained. That’s the fun part of getting a new deck of tarot cards!
@Kungfukitten: fair point… for the record, btw, I got most of the descriptions from Crowley’s Thoth Tarot. But he only did 2-10 of the minor arcana and he changed up his major completely (and renamed all the court cards). So I did a little research and filled in the other cards with my favorite meanings and ones that balanced it the way I wanted.
I would buy a set if and when you decide to publish. Taking pre-orders?

Seen in my contacts’ photos. (?)
I would buy a set too! These look great….I’m getting excited for you!
ooh i see the death card in there, covering you…some major changes coming your way.
Very cool. Can you use them to tell my future??? 😉
@Mikey aka DaSkinnyBlackMan: not on flickr I’m not. I like my account. 🙂 But I’ll keep you in mind.
@*boheme*: thanks. that gives me faith that maybe I actually could make some money with this.
@ms.Tea: yeah, I did that on purpose. I started to set up a fake and meaningful reading, but I got tired and it was getting late.
@PhotoKat: so long as your future is is contained within 20 of the 78 cards, sure. 🙂
oh really, i would think it would be just easy to shuffle them, and just lay them out. it’s interesting seeing what you have chosen.
They look very cool all laid out together like that!
@ambrosialove: thanks. In real life, they’re just printed on semi-gloss photo paper and they look kinda silly for now, but I am encouraged.
