Amaya diptych

Amaya diptych

Every once in a while its nice to get out of the studio. Amaya and I went to West Virginia’s Spruce Knob state park to do a photoshoot this week. These are some shots from that fun filled day.

Taken for the Take a Class with Dave and Dave group.

Assignment: Diptych

That’s very nice! In the closeup you can really see how the black & white of her dress coordinates with the rock wall! That’s pretty darned cool! Did you plan that? Or was it a happy accident! In the wide angle it’s clear that there are other colors. It’s also interesting that you made the 2 sides unequal in size. I never would have thought of doing that. It works.

@lrayholly: well, she wore the dress that she wore and when we found those big rocks, I knew I wanted to do some alternate angles with them. I will admit that I did do a little magic to get the color coordination to work right. I am the king of color correction. And yeah, I’m rather fond of assymetry in photos, so that was a pretty obvious choice to me.

I really like the soft (gaussian?) blur on the left pic. Nice effect.
