Day 293 of 365 days.

Usually I’m not big on huge "everyone do this minichallenge this day" events. Mostly because I know there are people who pay attention to the Maverick 365 project that don’t pay attention to anyone else’s. And also because I have delusions of actually making a book and the mini challenges wouldn’t make sense in that context.

That said, I think its absolutely fascinating that this project would cause 50 people who’ve never met each other to go out of their way to do a tribute to another person they’ve never met who gave up the project weeks ago.

On top of that, I really like the jessiriffic style and had been meaning to steal it for one pic for ages. So here it is. And in special tribute, this photo was not processed in Photoshop at all. Just like the real Jessi, I did it all inside of iPhoto. I’m happy I never have to do that again.

Happy Birthday, Jessi

I did mine all in iPhoto also. But I started with overexposed monochrome jpegs from the 30D.

@phlewght: oh…. I started with a standard color shot and turned the saturation all the way down before tweaking the exposure and the contrast a bunch.

Very nicely done. Your elbow is missing, though! 🙂

Love the shirt. I couldn’t find any paper clips either, dammit.

I have so thoroughly enjoyed her photos, and I love this idea. (Your shirt = awesome.)

fabulous job! 🙂 very jessi-esque. 🙂 I am quite enjoying your tags as well, which is quite fitting… my favorite is the "damn curls" one. 😉

Seen next to a fellow photo of Jessi Rocks!. (?)

It’s pretty crazy how successful today has been – and to think that it all started from YOUR GROUP! You totally rule.

@Rachel-B: yeah. I thought it added a little something.

@ambrosialove: 🙂 Thank you. I’m pretty happy with it myself.

I honestly can’t believe how many people posted photos for the group today. I’m incredibly flattered, and ridiculously happy.

There may have been tears. I’m kind of emotional all of a sudden.

I’m really glad that you participated, even though it goes against the Maverick Code of Ethics. It wouldn’t have been the same without you.

i’ve remembered jessi.’s pics from the early days of 365, i liked them a lot. i did a few in that same style, though it wasn’t meant as a copycat of hers at the time. the ones, lots of them, that i made yesterday were simply for the collage for her birthday.

i almost didn’t join, but the page looked so cool with everyone’s photo done in that style that i couldn’t refuse! she does great work and why not cheer her on…i bet she comes back to 365 now, right jessi.?

mav, you did an awesome job on yours!
