Day 280 of 365 days. Ow. Ow ow ow. Oh my god, ow. I had a wrestling show today. In good old Wheeling West Virginia in front of an excited 28 fans. Woohoo! It wasn’t the smallest crowd I’ve ever wrestled in front of, but it was pretty down there. I was the third match,…

Day 279 of 365 days. So I never heard from my model for this morning, so I guess that pretty much means that shoot is cancelled. Spent the morning editing some photos, and then got a phone call from Shannon asking me if I wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese for her son, Parker’s…

Yara meditation

Yara meditation

More shots from the Yara photoshoot I did on Thursday. I’m quite pleased with that shoot. I think I got a nice set out of it.

In this one I was trying some other photo processing techniques. Closer to what I’m doing with the Staff cards. I was going for kind of a "300" feel to it.

This won’t mean anything to most people (and 10 points to you if you do get the reference), but this one, more than any other just has a Hyrkanian feel to it. But the pose and facial expression weren’t quite right for the feel I was going for with the Queen of Swords card. Still, I like it, so I wanted to get it posted as well.

I love how her stomach is featured in this one, and with the sword on her head (even though she isn’t balancing it), this pic just really said belly dancing to me.

Jack of Swords Originally uploaded by chrismaverick. Obligatory plug: If you haven’t yet, go vote in my annual sexiest woman alive contest. It won’t take much time and it should be fun.So the Maverick Tarot project (some pics, NSFW) is well underway. I’ve been using a mixture of friends of mine and models, but I…

XX-Judgement

XX-Judgement

The problem with some of the tarot cards is they require very specific casting. Judgement, for instance requires a newborn baby and a mother. And since the major arcana cards are all nude, it required a naked newborn and mother. So, when a friend of mine had one I certainly wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity.

Connie was nice enough to bring over her four week old son, Thomas Jefferson so they could pose for my tarot deck. I am quite grateful, and I’m sure this will traumatize him 13 years from now.

Day 278 of 365 days. Two days in a row and not a studio shot. It’s been a while since I did that. Finished and posted another tarot card, today. The Queen of Staffs. Then I had a another photoshoot for the tarot deck. I have one tomorrow evening and possibly one in the morning,…

Queen of Staffs

Queen of Staffs

Pinky came over and posed for me the other day. The result, yet another Tarot card. The first one in the Staffs suit. I’m still not totally sure I like the effect of this one. I keep floating between loving it and thinking its not quite right. I like that its vibrant and distinct. I was initially going for kind of an airbrush effect, but then started going with a tinge of "300"-style postprocessing. I really need it to have a distinct contrast with the swords cards, but I want to make sure its obvious that its processed.

So I’d definitely like feedback here. What do you think?
