Long day. Kind of depressing, but I’m doing better now. Not really much I want to talk about. Really, its just more of the same. So instead I’ll just "sit back down and have a beer and feel sorry for myself."
I had been meaning to try this for a while. One of the best parts of 365 is being able to test out photo techniques before I try them on a "real picture." This is an idea I want to use on a tarot card (you know the all consuming force in my life). Curious as to how people think it turned out.
Soooooooooooooooo cool!!!! I think it turned out really good!
Turned out great. I love the shadows, and composition. Hope your day tomorrow turns out good.

Seen on my Flickr home page. (?)
Really cool, Mav. Not sure I have a clue how you did this, but I like it.
And, since you asked, the only issue I see is with the points where you connect with the water. Your left leg looks a tiny but cut out and the blur around your feet and finger don’t quite look natural. (I’m talk a original size here) — these are nits really…just thinking they *might* show up in printed form. Overall very very cool tho!
This came out well.
If you want a little suggestion, I do a ton of photo manipulation, a little trick to getting the perfect cut out, after you have made your selection around the body, or whatever you are selecting, expand the selection into the skin by two or three pixels, then feather it by one pixel before you do your crop, gives a perfect cut without any background bleed.
I just had to play with water for the mermaid shot I did, it’s a lot of fun, and yours came out well 🙂
@PhotoKat: thanks.
@adayinthelife: thank you. I hop so too.
@d.rex: yeah… I noticed that… but it was after midnight and I was tired of working on it. In a tarot card shot, I’ll probably work on that to make it tighter.
@Rob Beyer: you know, I totally meant to do that and forgot. Like i said, I was getting tired of it. but thanks for the suggestion.
Wow! Since I can’t give any technical commentary, I’ll just give you my gut reaction! It’s awesome!
@lrayholly: thanx
Is the water entirely CG?
this turned out really well Mav, well done!

Mav, you are really getting amazing. One day when you are down, you should start at day 1 and go through them all. Your photography has grown with leaps and bounds and has gotten really, really good.
I’m exicted to model for you!
very cooL mav!!
@Princess Diablo: Well, I’ve also had major equipment upgrades. But I do like thinking I get better every day. So thank you.
@assbach: Thanx, Sascha.
No technical suggestions since I don’t have those skills – but the impression is outstanding.
@Nor757: thank you. That’s as good feedback as any.
