Mav: 0 Meteors: 1.
As a "great man" once said "Fool me once, shame on me… Fool me twice… Won’t be fooled again…"
So you’ll recall a week ago I had a job lined up. Not a particularly favorable job, as it was going to require me spending a month in Boston, but a job nonetheless. Then that job went away. Then the same company asked me to work another job in Pittsburgh, I was quite leery about it, but I need a job so I was going to accept. Today that job went away too.
*Sigh* this is the reason I fucking hate people.
Anyway, to celebrate my impending bumness and maybe lift my spirits a little bit, Steph and I went to see the new Harry Potter movie. I guess I enjoyed it, but I had a similar response to what I felt they did in the first movie. Mainly, sloppy storytelling. They tried to force too much into it, and then made bad decisions about what they did eliminate. I think they’re basically relying on people having read the books. Which obviously, like 99.99% of their audience probably has, but I imagine its really hard to follow if you haven’t.
Also, will I go to hell if I point out that as I predicted Hermoine is growing up to be REALLY damn hot? (and sadly, Ginny, who is actually my favorite character in the books, much less so)
We still miss you Tatiana M. Ali.
She really did pull a TMA, didn’t she?
Hi Steph! Good to see ya!!!
Mav’s got a crush on Hermoine! Mav’s got a crush on Hermoine!
Sorry, couldn’t help myself 🙂
@MegaBee: yep… totally… and I called it when the films first started.
@lrayholly: actually, to be fair… Mav’s got a crush on Emma Watson. As a character, Mav has a crush on Ginny Weasley.
I love romantic you and Steph photos.
@Princess Diablo: is this one really all that romantic?
You know, I just saw it, and I thought it was pretty good. It was irritating that they didn’t explain that Mrs. Figg was a squibb, and a few other things, but I thought that they did a fairly good job of portraying the book.
It was much better that the fourth, that’s for sure.

@david_porter: yeah, there were several issues like that which were left out and therefore made little sense to me in the context of the movie except that I already knew from reading the book. But yeah, it was certainly enjoyable. I don’t regret that 2 and a half hours of my life or anything like that.
@chrismaverick: Maybe romantic is the wrong word. Love-y. Happy. Couple-y. It isn’t romance, as much as two people together who look happy doing something that looks like fun and suggests to me cuddles, popcorn, and shared experiences.
But since I don’t have a word for that, I went with romantic.
@Princess Diablo: that’s fair. thankyou. 🙂
Hi, I’m an admin for a group called Me + 1, and we’d love to have you join and add your photo to the group’s pool.

Seen in my contacts’ photos. (?)
Hi Steph! Who’s that weirdo you’re sitting next to?
Oh yes, you could tell from Day One about Emma Watson…. She’s kinda small, though.
Susan took Miss C to see Order of the Phoenix. She liked it, but she too had some nit picks.
I miss doing this with Susan, without it also costing 3 hrs. of babysitting money. We went last Friday to see the musical 1776, which our reknowned Guthrie Theater is currently running. (Great show!!) That was 5 hours of babysitting — better to save the babysitting money for a big night out that already costs a mint!
@EddieBirk: added. Thank you.
@phlewght: I’m short. I like small. I had plenty of nit picks.
