Gentlemen…we can rebuild him. Bigger! Stronger! Better in bed!
I actually initially had this idea about a week ago when watching a commercial for the new Bionic Woman series that’s coming out this fall. Then when I talked about all of my lifelong injuries the other day I figured I really had to do this. I was going to make it yesterday, but wasn’t feeling up to it, so you get it today instead.
It’s funny. Between Bionic Woman, the final season of Battlestar Galactica and the Sarah Conner Chronicles, a goodly portion of the tv shows I am most looking forward to in the next year are about cyborgs.
I never really much cared for the concept for myself before. But lately, with all my aches and pains, I’m starting to wonder if maybe it isn’t a good idea. I’d love it if I could fix up my bum ankle with some good old WD40. Yep, time to chop off the old meat arms, yup, yup.
Are you for hire? I have this problem…
The Six Billion Dollar Man ~ LOL.
*gasp* Sarah Connor Chronicles? Oooh, shiny! No pun intended of course.
That’s what I’m talkin’ ’bout!
Cyborgs, dang there goes my neighborhood. *grin*
I still have that pilot (before scenes were re-shot) of the Sarah Connor Cronicles, contact me some afternoon if you’d like to view it.
Wow, you really look even tougher now! I bet you can make some real money wrestling lookin like that!
@Mikey aka DaSkinnyBlackMan: you will be contacted by my associate. A "Mr. Johnson."
@macaddict: heh… not quite
@adayinthelife: yep. I’m looking forward to it.
@MegaBee: figured you’d like that one.
@navigator23: yeah, I was actually saying to Steph yesterday that i needed to get that from you.
@sassyshannon999: if I had that kinda hardware I’d go off and be a merc or something.
This is very cool. I’d love to know how you did the arm…is that arm. Did you get a whole digital arm somewhere or did you create that from scratch? It’s very cool.
@d.rex: Thanks. It’s quite complicated, actually. My arm is under there. It was done with a whole lot of layer compositing and freehand drawing. I used stock photos of cable and engines as starter material for texturing, and there was a lot of masking going on, and freehand correction.
great photo, love these kind of cyborg images, I’m still trying to fit a Ghost in the Shell inspired photo into my 365 days and this one just further motivated me 🙂
and thanks for the insight on how you built the arm 😉
@☼ Helder: thanks. Fair warning. It’s actually a little more complicated to get right. I worked on it for several hours. It took a lot of tweaking. Good luck.
Oh my dear son, you are such a geek! A lovable geek, but a geek none the less 😉
@lrayholly: geeky or no, at least this arm works. 😛
Wow! You did an amazing job. Have you seen Robot Chicken’s Six Million Peso Man? Kind of funny. 🙂
@Kungfukitten: I’ve heard about it but not watched it yet. I’ll have to.
