So I had a second interview with company number one today. I guess it went ok. Supposedly they’ll be getting back to me by Monday. I need to call company number two tomorrow. So hopefully I can make a decision about things. I just hope I’m not getting ahead of myself. I’ll feel a lot more comfortable when I actually have offers in hand. Of course, then, if I get both of them, I’ll be stressing hardcore over which to take. Life is never simple.
In other news, I’m thinking of doing another art show. I was invited to do a 24 hour creative marathon. A bunch of artists lock themselves in a studio for 24 straight hours and create works in that time. Whatever they want. At the end of 24 hours, there’s a show open to the public. It’s kind of an exciting concept, and I’ve even done something like it before. I’ve done two different 24-hour comics (Looking for Venus and Dreaming on Paper). But these days, as an artist, I’m pretty much just a photographer. I don’t know what I can do that I can do in only 24 straight hours. Maybe I could try drawing or painting or something again, maybe I could find someway to put photography into it. It’s really hard to do a comic in 24 hours and I don’t know if that’s what I want to do. So if anyone has any great ideas of where I could go, I’d love to hear it.
As for this, I started wanting to try something different. I started thinking of it as a Matrix like effect. But then I kind of wanted to go my own way. This was what I came up with. For the non computer geeks, the little symbols you’re looking at are hexidecimal. Basically a text representation for the binary computer code of a file. In this case, they represent the bitmap that makes up the portrait you are looking at. So the picture contains the picture, if that makes any sense.
I dunno. I thought it was cool.
It’s extremely cool… and very much the geek. Yep, if I’m a dork, you’re a geek.
@lrayholly: thanks. Did you ever read those comics before? Curious about your opinion. And any ideas for what I should do for the show?
That is cool!
Maybe take some photos and edit them for the 24 hours…. you could animate them, or make them into paintings with PS…or maybe a comic even!
No, I’ve not read them. I’ll have to think about the show… that’ll take some consideration…
you’re a total nerd…but i love this!
@MegaBee: thanks.
@pbrat: the problem with photography is who do I take pics of in that 24 hour period? and I’d have to display them digitally since I wouldn’t have time to make prints.
@lrayholly: cool. let me know if you come up with anything.
@pi c’s: thanks.
