In an attempt to try and be happier about the whole working for a living thing, I’ve decided to try to count my blessings with the new job.
1) No one seems innately evil. That might not seem like much, but to my experience its not always a given.
2) There’s a quite relaxed dress code. This is a big one. This morning, Steph tried to stop me from wearing my ball chain necklace this morning. Asking me if I was sure I wanted to wear something so casual and didn’t I think it was kinda inappropriate? Yes I was, and no I don’t. I’m tired of not being me.
Of course, it’d be better if I could also wear my offensive T-shirts, leather chaps and cowboy boots and maybe there were noontime breaks for blow jobs or something. But hey, its a start.
I also got a very relaxed dress code at my job. The chaps and boots would definitely work but those t-shirts, better stay safe.
Just be glad you’re not working for corporate America, dress codes can be brutal, even business casual!

Seen on my Flickr home page. (?)
@Ernie E: that was actually my point. I’ve been working for corporate america most of the last few years. This is a nice change.
It’s good the new environs are not spiritually toxic. It can make the days so much easier.
A good pair of boots are appropriate everywhere, except maybe the beach.
But chaps can get a little hot, and the fringes can get caught in the office chairs.
The ball chain in silver is a nice touch. But I’ve always been more of an Old School, gold kind of guy, and it’s always there.
Relaxed dress code is a big plus at my job too! Jeans and a knit shirt, my Chucks. I love being comfortable.
Sing it. I’ve been on-site at clients’ for over a month. Early mornings, shirts that need to be pressed, blah blah.
@DeHoll: i never said that. Just that no one was evil.
@Travelinjim: yeah. There’s definitely a lot to be said for that.
@jeremiahblatz: yeah, I’m sure that will happen sooner or later. But for now it’s nice being comfy.
