Sometimes I am afraid that I’m just spinning my wheels on this project. Not only do I just take a standing in black shadows studio shot whenever I can’t think of anything, I have my own standard set of props that I use. I really need to come up with something new to make the rest of this second year more exciting.
In other news, I posted an interesting topic to my blog. I mentioned it yesterday, but didn’t get many flickr visitors over there. It’s one of those things that I’d really like feedback on, so I’d appreciate everyone reading it and letting me know what you think.
En Garde!
@lrayholly: maybe I should actually learn to fence one day. I only know japanese sword fighting techniques.
But you HAVE a BACKGROUND. Totally beats a messy room any day!
PS I like the sword. Foil. Whatever.
@gotplaid?: its a sword. Katana actually.
I think a huge part of this project’s value is in the retrospective, looking back to see where I/we were at at any point during the year. To me it’s not so much about the contrived art (though I do loves me some poses!), but more of the staying at the camera daily, and the humanness of all of us.

With me being on the coast I try to get out more, which for me, makes for more interesting shots. I am becoming a fixture at the beaches here.

@lalalaa Dolce Vita: the thing is, I already did that for a year. There’s really nothing for me to explore with the 365 day journey at this point, so mostly its just an exercise in expression. When I don’t have anything to express it kind of loses something. At least for me.
@Mikey aka DaSkinnyBlackMan: yeah, I see you’ve been there a couple times with the models and alone. That’s a pretty cool thing to have access to.
I can show you the basics, I fenced for 6 years.
@Tommy Train: I actually know a lot of people who did. I really should learn at some point. If you want to teach me, then sure!
