And back to normal. Weird thing about coming off a wrestling weekend. I spent the whole day at work, and not one person hit another person with a chair. No one dove off of anything into anyone else. No one got bodyslammed into thumbtacks. I didn’t even see anyone poke a thumb in someone else’s eye.
It was weird.
Anyway, it was a long day spent trying to meet yet another deadline. I met it of course, and I was ass tired afterwards. I’ve only had this job a couple of months but I’m already kind of feeling the routine set in. Maybe that’s why I have so many outside interests. Spend one weekend taking pictures of naked women, spend the next weekend drinking myself silly at a party, spend the next weekend having someone kick me in the head. It’s the kind of thing that reminds me I’m alive.
I guess everyone needs a hobby. I wonder if I’d have less extreme ones if I had a "fun" job.
If I ever have to meet three deadlines in one week, I think I’m going to play russian roulette while having a threesome while base jumping. Now how am I gonna manage to take a picture of that?
Edit: Stayed up late and made blog post I had been meaning to do. It should be interesting if you like thinking about sex a lot, so I’d love to know what you think.
It’s a good thing you don’t work at Kinkos or somewhere even more boring, hey?

Wow! I can’t believe nobody was slamming or throwing chairs! You should come to MY office!

@Sick Little Monkey: honestly, my job isn’t even bad. I’m quite thankful for that. I even like it, as far as jobs go, you know? It’s just that I’ve pretty much learned that i don’t really want to "work" in the traditional sense. I don’t think I’m ever going to be happy until I’m a full time artist. And even then I’ll probably just find something else to bitch about.
@lrayholly: ooh… do you have cage matches?
@chrismaverick: No cages – but great matches none-the-less! Yesterday it was a 77 year old man against his 70 year old wife! I think some desk clearing was involved!

@lrayholly: sounds exciting. BTW, there’s a new post in my LJ. I editted this post to mention it after you commented so you might not have seen it.
I have a real appreciation for your action hero pass times. But remember the buttoned down world of corporate USA is always dull compared to the life we might prefer was the focus of 120 hours of a 168 hour week.
As I recall…"It’s the bulls and the blood and the dust and the mud." God, I miss it!
@DeHoll: I’m well aware of the corporate world’s suckitude. Hence my dreams of leaving it behind as soon as possible. In fact, the job I ended up taking pays less than I’m worth, but I chose it over a higher paying offer simply because it was less corporate.
