I never expected much of the Steelers this year. Not really. Young team, with a brand new coach, and I kind of assumed that we’d be lucky to go better than 8-8. Biut the boys surprised me a few times and low and behold we won our division and were in the playoffs.
I never expected us to do well in the playoffs. The team just wasn’t ready. I knew we’d be losing to the wildcard team.
But then we took the field and came out fighting. I had hope. At half time that had all but gone away, and I said as much when I posted more locker room pics of Sarah during the middle of the game.
But right after I posted, the mounted about the most impressive 4th quarter comeback I’ve ever seen. Not only mounted, but amazingly we even ended up ahead for a moment. I began get excited.
But it was not to be. At the end of the day it was not to be. There is no joy in Mudville.
I guess I’m putting the jersey away til fall.
I’m feelin’ you, Man !!! 🙁
Sorry man. I’m a Vikings fan. So I can identify with disappointment.

The steelers are plauged with the same problem for the last 5 years or so. They don’t play 4 quarters. As a big steeler fan (born and raised in Pittsburgh) yesterdays game created an ahaaaa experience with me. It is not healthy to watch them! I can not take the stress any longer.
Great picture!!!
Brother I’m there with you. I woke up this morning, (hey… I got the blues,) and for one brief moment before the fog of beer cleared I was certain it was a dream. Unbelievable. It’s going to be a long eight months.
Hey, you could have to deal with the choices I have. Can you say Washington Redskins? Can you say Baltimore Ravens? I will be jerseyless until I see something hopeful on the field or good calls coming from the sidelines.
@tdoxie: yeah. It was a sad, sad day.
@Rockin’ Rob: heh. Really, I wasn’t expecting a win, but it still hurts.
@mccalm2001: Oh, i’ll be back for more pain next season. Really, brand new coach with no experience, and a young team. We did a lot better than I was expecting at the beginning of the season.
@M Styborski: hopefully they’ll regroup well in the off season. I’m gonna miss Faneca though.
@DeHoll: well, you don’t have to root for a team where you live. I’m very much of the opinion yu should keep the same team as a fan for life.
Yeah man, I hate it that Steelers went down last night. I am still depressed about WVU losing to the other Pittsburgh team and blowing their national championship hopes. I am also a Panthers fan (I moved to SC the year the team formed)and since they hired much of the Steelers coaches and players I figured it was still like pulling for the Steelers, so I have had a bad football year.
i washed my jersey and put it away too.
I was hoping it would get some use this upcomming weekend (and i mean use like "the reason we took those pictures" use) but i’m even too depressed for THAT.
Bad loss. Coaching needs to learn from this season. Love the shots of Sarah. Maybe next year. Ben needs to get the ball out quicker also.
They will study and learn. We have a good core of players so we have time.
More pics of Sarah
Go Steelers Nation.
@transplanted mountaineer: like I said, I wasn’t really expecting much from this season, but it’s disappointing just the same.
@spresogna: awww… sorry, babe. But there’s always next year.
Tis a sad day in the Steelers’ world for sure…
But as the yalways say…."There’s always next year" 🙂

@CA Steel: there are more pics of Sarah to come in a week or so. I just need to get some other stuff done. As for the team, he’s a young coach. He should have plenty of time. I look forward to seeing what he does next year.
@dieselbug2007: yep. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
