Amaya was in town this weekend and we hadn’t shot together in a while. In order to do something different I invited Sarah to shoot as well. We got some good shots done and I got a chance to copy the Tom Ford Vanity Fair cover, something I had been wanting to do for a while. I’ve probably mentioned before that I am hopelessly in love with Scarlett Johansson, so its probably not suprising that I have always loved this shot. And now I’m in it. And what’s better, I’m in it with two of the bestest models in the world. Damn right, it was a good day.
To make things even better, this week’s the 365 Days Podcast is finished and up. Also available (on iTunes).
Other shots from the shoot will be up in the coming days.
Well done! Instant fave 🙂
@macaddict: thanks. I’ve wanted to do this one for quite a while.
Nice stuff!
Scarlett is beautiful but I certainly can’t complain about your lovely models either.
very nice
Fantastic. Very creative. You’re definitely one of the great ‘masters’ of flickr.
Sweet. Fukken sweet. God I want to redo that cover too so bad you have no idea.
uh-mazing…. has left me in goosebumps!
[Seen on your photo stream. – ?]

Seen in my contacts’ photos. (?)
*bows* I’m not worthy! I’m not worthy!
Very well done. Two thumbs up!
That’s pimpin’ as fuck, son!
Almost didn’t comment yet… (it’s not exactly SFW LOL) But… well done.
Clever bugger!
Oh man. I wish I would have lifted my neck more. But, thats my flaw, not yours.
Other than that… Amazing. You look so chic, Mav
@wunnspeed: thanks, and I’m sure the girls thank you as well.
@[HKR]: thank you.
@knight pix: I dunno about creative, since I copied it, but I’m definitely happy with how well it came out, so thank you.
@Jack Scoresby: you totally should. I’d love to see your version too.
@amanky: thanks.
@EOS Boy: thank you.
@generous.colours: thanks I’m happy with it.
@lrayholly: yeah, I’ve always wanted to do this one since the cover came out.
@Mikey aka DaSkinnyBlackMan: heh. You may rise, peasant. 🙂
@DeHoll: thanks.
@MegaBee: that’s how I roll.
@Stephen Poff: yeah, I was kinda agonizing over this one too. I ultimately decided that if the actual cover was safe for supermarkets it was ok for here. That said, yeah, I see the issue. Anyway, thanks.
@DavidStorey: thank you.
@spresogna: oh quiet you! You look great. Actually, I don’t like Kiera’s neck angle. I think the crease it forms on her shoulder is distracting. Thank you so much for doing it with me!
Kudos to getting your wish come true!
You did an outstanding job on your cover,
very good rendition!! I think I have a moo card
with Scarlett’s pic on it….Once again, I must say
I am in awe. I may have the original Vanity Fair,
and it was quite a sight, I’ll say…so is yours!! 🙂
Very cool, but can you please answer that question! Why? Are you some kind of narcissist??? Just kidding!
@rockwilder: thank you. I like copying magazine covers and movie posters. I don’t know why. Really, it doesn’t take nearly as much creativity, I guess. But it sure is fun.
@sassyshannon999: Yeah, apparently I am. I even wrote it on the back of my book.
I should’ve lifted my face to the light more; I love this but don’t like me in it. And now I want to do it again with a hairstylist’s aid.
@MaradeNox: you’re fine. The funny thing is, I have things about it I don’t like about me, Sarah has stuff she hates about her. And now you. We all suck. 🙂
great work recreating an already great photo – keira and scarlette – what a combo!
@kridgett kreations: thank you. I’m glad you approve.
Recognized this right away — brilliant!
@d.rex: thanks. it’s always been one of my favorites.
