Fun fact. I hate the ipod earbuds. Somehow, it became a minor pop-culture status symbol to have trademark white ear buds in your ears once the iPod became popular, but I find them hella uncomfortable. They hurt my ears, and they don’t even stay in all that well. Give me a nice comfortable pair of headphones any day.
This week’s 365 Podcast(iTunes link) is up. Finally got my tutorial on black and white done, and I think its a pretty good little show, so check it out.
I think its funny that both Stephen and I both did an iPod shot today. You’d almost think we planned it. We didn’t.
Neat trick.

I totally agree with you about the earbuds. Uncomfortable, and they don’t stay in. I bought myself a nice pair of headphones, which I’m sure reduces my coolness ten fold, but I don’t care!

Ear buds are kind of like bookshelf speakers. Made for those who think sound reproduction should be invisible. Headhones are so much better, but over time you gotta watch the bald spot.
Hmmmmmm that reminds me that I need a new ipod too!
sigh… so many needs, so little money 😉

i, personally, just love that you typed hella.
it makes me grin.
this is a very rad pic by the way.
=)
I hate the ipod earbuds too. Absurdly painful. But I went with Sony’s in-ear ones instead of the old-school. They have 3 different sized flexible soft rubber tips so I was able to use the smallest one and they’re really comfy. Plus I still get to look like a tragically hip chick.
And I can so easily picture you and steven calling each other like fourth grade girls.. "what are you gonna wear today?" "what are you doing for your photo?" "Did you do the homework for math class?"
I WAS with you on the earbuds until recently. As a family we’ve had 7 ipod variations and I always gave away my earbuds. They were uncomfortable and sounded terrible. I had had a great pair of Sony earbuds that I was really in love with but mostly just listened with my larger studio reference headphones.
But when I got the iPhone, something had changed. The design is a bit little bit different and the sound is a whole lot better. They no longer hurt my ears the way they did before.
The photo Mav is refering to is below… and again, we didn’t call before doing this… ;-P
Heh…I giggled when I saw this.
I should have done one for the ipod trifecta.

@ecstaticist: thank you.
@Rockin’ Rob: I have cool headphones. Several different pairs, actually. So I think I’m doing ok.
@DeHoll: well, I have one really nice pair. They sound good, but I still like my headphones better.
@lrayholly: heh…let me know when you hit that lottery.
@star*munki: thank you. And yeah, I like the word hella.
@mickeysacks: actually, I have apples soft buds, and they are better and the sound is good, but I still prefer the old school.
@Stephen Poff: as I said to Mickey, I actually do have better ear buds, but I still prefer the headphones. To each their own I guess.
@PhotoKat: good… always happy to make you happy.
@shockingbird: heh… never too late.
@pinkgypsysoul: see, I think of thongs and boyshorts as serving different purposes. And either could be constructed to be comfortable and uncomfortable. But my main problem with the earbuds isn’t really the discomfort. The soft buds are decent. Mostly I hate that they fall out.
Nice shot Mav. I’m with you on those earbuds too. Damned uncomfortable.

Good ole iPod.
@Travelinjim: Thanks and yep.
@TiffanyLynn.: couldn’t live without it.
dude. i agree, headphones are a lot more comfy. actually, a lot of my school mates have use headphones for their ipods. lol. the only really nice thing about ear buds is that the teacher won’t notice use listening to music while we do our class excercises. haha
@Christine Cueto: heh… see, I don’t even see how you’d be able to even hide it then.
Oh, I like this one! (And I’m with you on ear buds – I thought I had defective ears for ages until I quietly started admitting my distaste for them in hushed tones and found more and more people suddenly had the courage to agree. ;-))
As for fooling teachers, it’s amazing what you can hide in long hair!
@hrw worcester: yeah, really, I just don’t understand the people who DO like them. 🙂
