So we moved into a new office building at work the other day. It’s quite nice, actually. Except for the part where they’re kinda still building it around us.
Yesterday, there was apparently some problem and the plumbing went out. Annoying, as there was suddenly no bathroom, but not a big deal. We work so near a so many stores and restaurants that there are plenty of facilities available.
Then today, something happened and this horrible stench arose from the pipes making the building pretty much uninhabitable. That meant it was time for lunch. Everyone I work with went to this local place called "Uncle Sams Subs" which is sort of like a sub shop, only the only meat they serve is grease, and the only topping is grease, and the bread is made of grease and then they deep fry it. I haven’t eaten there in like 12 years because everytime I do, I want to vomit. So I went and had sushi by myself and hung out with my laptop availing myself of the neighborhoods free wireless.
As I was taking my picture and browsing the web, the owner of the restaurant came by and saw some of my photos. She was very impressed and took some of my cards saying that she might want to hire me someday and that I should bring some samples in next time I go.
Well, that’s something at least. It’s these little things that get me through the day.
Anti-social? Afraid of a little (ok, alot) of grease? 😀
Congrats on the networking, that’s pretty cool.
BTW, my "Package" is supposed to ship today. Be ready for lots of questions!

Seen on your photo stream. (?)
Hey. I love Uncle Sams!
But its pretty awesome that someone saw your work!
What building are you in now?
Your description of Uncle Sams sounds dead on. And Sq Hill is definitely awesome for free wireless. I’ll never understand why people pay for wireless in Starbucks and what not, it’s really just pointless.
Do they charge for extra grease? Hah <3
@lrayholly: you haven’t been there. Really the stuff is awful.
@spresogna: well there you go. That settles it. I am cooler than you. And I’m above the T-mobile.
@dyannafstop: yeah, I really hate the place. Even if it wasn’t so unhealthy, I just don’t think it tastes good at all.
@like_shipwrecks: yes, you pay in years off your life.
