Sometimes I just want to get away. I wish it was that easy.
I used to do a lot of virtual world stuff like this. Back when I was in high school I had the theory that computers would be the new art. I believed the whole science fiction theory that you’d just be able to create whatever you wanted and spit and entire world out that was just as real as a photograph or movie. That one day we might be able to project that virtual world around us just like in Star Trek. My art teacher thought I was crazy.
As time went on, the world caught up with me, and they don’t even really make movies anymore that don’t have CGI something or other. As that happened, I kinda moved away from it. In fact, I grew to hate it. Nothing ever looks real to me anymore. I guess that’s why I turned to photography. I used to draw. I was constantly trying to make imaginary things more real. For me, photography is about making reality more fantastic.
But sometimes it’d be nice if I could just create something and step into it.
Maybe some day.

it is sad that the real has become more fantastic to me… like you said the fantasty and imaginary have become so dull and plastic.

@jwill9311: yeah. I have a lot more fun with idealizing my photography these days than I ever did with trying to make CGI look realistic which was just a lot of frusteration.
