Ah, refreshing.
Steph and I finally got a chance to use the pool tonight. It was quite nice. Not quite as warm as I like it (I like my pool water to feel warm… almost like the hottub) but it was quite nice anyway, probably just the temperature that most people like it.
Anyway, initially I had intended to do a shot of me floating underwater, but then I got the idea of doing a jumping out of the water shot (as opposed to my cannonballing into it that I did last year). This is what I finally came up with.
Aquaman, eat your heart out!
woahhhh great shot!!! It’s hard to shoot water so well!
-from you 365 neighbor 🙂
Really cool!
@scary jerry girl: It’s all about shutter speed. I actually did a tutorial on how to do it on the 365 Days Podcast, Episode 24, if you want to check it out.
@mofo: thank you.
@mickeysacks: well, you’re welcome to use it when you come to visit.
hahahaha, why isn’t this a shot of a girl in a bikini?
@spresogna: why aren’t you over here today?
Wow! Fantastic shot. Love the movement of the water.
@*ManyFacets*: Thank you. I’m glad you like it, and I’m mostly just glad it turned out so well.
You look like a merman exploding out of the water.
Radddd.
@like_shipwrecks: hehehe. That’s actually what Steph said too.
looks like a stereotypical hair-flip girl shot ~ lol love it!
Top of the awesome list!!!
Chris your last 3 shots have been brilliant….loved them all…The Merman comment above actually had me giggling pretty good. The water being captured here is great and thanks for sharing the tutorial, I’ve downloaded it and will listen later on.
great shot mav!!!
glad to hear that you got the pool filled up 😉
@SaylaMarz: yeah, and I’m even TOPLESS… so HAWT! 🙂
@365bunnies:
thank you.
@Phatso Photography: thank you. I hope you enjoy the tutorial.
@pi c’s: heh. It’s actually been fillled for weeks. We just didn’t get around to using it. Sad isn’t it?
Holy fuck. Nice! And here I thought you hated using the flash.
@MegaBee: for lighting. I will use it occasionally for fill. Actually, if you check, you’ll see that there are quite a few times I use it for various special effects and stuff. I just don’t make a big deal of it.
haha just needed the colorful very small bikini to make this the cliché "babe comming out of the water" shot 😀
*and great shot mav. once i have a proper camera i have to try these kind of shots (but with a hot babe instead of you ;-D )
@☼ Helder: like I said to SaylaMarz, I’m even hotter, cuz I’m topless. 😛 Thanks.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet! Got some great splash action.
@PhotoKat: see, if you were coming through pittsburgh instead of philly that could be you. 😛
Great shot – and Congratulations on Explore!!
I’ve been looking forward to this tutorial…..

Seen in my contacts’ Explore photos. (?)
@Babs1696: thank you. I hope you enjoy it.
Wow! Great shot Chris!!!
I. Love. This.
@simplysilly: thank you.
@nicky’s_eye_view: thanks. Glad you like it.
fabulous!!
I forgot you had a pool!!!! When can I come over?
Instant winner
i will not join the topon or topless conversation but the shot is great! wish i can make that shot with a point+shoot. i lucky enough to live near a pool, but i have to pay a membership fee. not worth it. besides, there are so many kids using that pool. impossible to make that kind of shot of just me. It would look more like a seamonster shot then a merman. I haven’t touch the water since I was ten. Meaning I haven’t swim since I came to this country! >_<
original composition.congrats
@curlyclare1: thank you.
@sassyshannon999: you know where I live. You’re welcome anytime, hun.
@jmven: thanks
@excalipoor: there’s no reason this couldn’t be done with a point and shoot. Again, take a look at the podcast tutorial and I tell you exactly how to do this sort of thing.
@` ®© ROBERTO CARBONI: thank you.
very cool! excellent capture
@disco~stu: thanks. I was quite happy with it myself.
impressive splash.
