All the way back on Day 32 I mentioned that a place called La Feria was one of Steph and my favorite restaurants. They make Peruvian food. The price is reasonable and its really tasty.
One of the best things about it is the appetizer. Sweet Potato Chips. Nice, fresh, home made potato chips, made out of sweet potatoes. If you’ve never had them you don’t know what you’re missing out on.
Tomorrow, Steph heads off to DC for a business trip and I won’t see her til Saturday when I meet up with her in New York for a wedding. It was definitely nice to have one last dinner together.
Bachelor days start tomorrow…maybe I’ll take a picture of me eating a TV dinner in my underwear. Won’t that be sexy?
Oooo those DO look good! I’ve had sweet potato fries but never chips like that…Mmmm…And yes! A TV Dinner shot would be awesome. Make sure you’re unkempt and perhaps a little stinky. Then it would REALLY make the shot 😉
I love hearing about your exotic eateries. But I never thought of sweet potato chips as Peruvian. How do you find these places anyway? Word of mouth?
@simplysilly: I actually don’t really like sweet potato fries. Weird, huh? And I dunno if I’m actually going to the bachelor shot. I have a photoshoot today. And I’m going to be busy packing on Thursday. Dunno what I’m going to do.
@lrayholly: La Feria, I’ve been going to for years. It was around the corner from the house I was living in for a while, and friends introduced me to it before I ever started dating Steph. I guess most of the places we hear about through word of mouth, or sometimes we just see a place on the side of the road and decide to try it out.
Oh so jealous…
There’s no Peruvian out there?
I luv sweet potato chips; what’s the dip?
@365bunnies: huancaina dip. It’s made of white cheese, oil and evaporated milk. I’m actually allergic to dairy products, but seem to be ok with it so long as I’m careful not to eat too much. Some of their dishes use it as a sauce on the actually dish, and i get sick when I eat that much of it. But it is tasty.
