Day 763 of 365 Again.

I had a great idea for a photo project today. You know, because there like isn’t enough going on in my life. *sigh*

Anyway, I’m really excited about it. Obviously most people reading this will have no idea what I’m talking about, but a few of you that I have talked to about it do. If I have talked to you about it, then I’ll ask, what do you think about this jacket as a prop? It’s actually kind of a pea green german military coat. I processed it a little browner than it really is, but that’s all about the artistic license. It’s not as distinctive as we had discussed, but then there’s something I like about the elegant simplicity of it, and part of me is just really excited to see how I could accessorize it to dress it up and how I’d make it work with a model. What do the rest of you think?

For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about… well, maybe I’ll just leave it a little cryptic for now. Kind of whet your appetite for some exciting things that are to come in the next few months.

Intrigued, aren’t you?

    I like it. In fact, I think it’s perfect.

    It looks so perfect on you I thought I had actually seen it before.

    I like its shape/cut. …my one worry is that its colour will be very limiting – whereas with a solid black, white or grey, we could go for monochromish schemes or very vibrant, this will actuallly clash with vibrant colours – so it might limit us to images in the same spectrum and style?

    SaylaMarz has a point.

    However a black coat would have limited Mav, like he was saying. I think no matter what we pick, we’re going to be hamstrung in one area or another.

    I think if we all agree on a prop, and don’t say really why, that’ll ensure we all have an idea and that the ideas are our own. I’ve perused the little posse involved in this, and I highly doubt being limited in color will dilute our creativity any, or that we’ll be so limited our photos will be too alike. We’re all very different artistic animals.

    Besides, I like limitations. They make you more creative, because you have to work around them.

    I say work with that. Limitations make you think outside the box. It’s all about the challenge.

    I like it! I already have ideas…:-)

    Works for me!

    🙂

    Looks like it would work great. My only concern (which I thought of before seeing it) would be size. But then, that’s part of the challenge, you know?

    While I have no idea what you are talking about, I really like this picture. It evokes a lot of emotion, demanding a closer look. I thought the description for today was going to read something like "I lost but am not defeated"

    Guessing to your intent: As someone who just drug signs all around the dessert (sigh) I’d encourage you to think about the foldablity (I don’t think that is a word) and weight of the jacket if you intend to drag it off to other places to shoot random people. Also, is it dry clean only? I suggest trying to launder it in your washing machine before becoming wed to using it.

    Good shot. Enjoy your new project.

    WHAT?! Looks like everyone is involved but me! Now my interest is piqued!

    @Jack Scoresby: cool.

    @SaylaMarz: hmmm… yeah, I’m kinda worried about the color. In my head I’m already working on ways to work around it.

    @Jack Scoresby: oh, black could work. I dunno. This just seemed distinctive.

    @Mikey aka DaSkinnyBlackMan: very true

    @sadandbeautiful (Sarah): cool

    @d.rex: cool

    @lrayholly: I’m not worried about size at all, actually. That’s part of the concept.

    @Princess Diablo: thanks. And I’m not actally worried about cleaning at all. It won’t be an issue.

    @Stephen Poff: nah, not everyone. It should be interesting in the in though. Glad I have you curious. I’ll be looking forward to seeing what you think when we’re done.

    Me too! I’m so confused lol

  12. September 15, 2008 at 11:56 am

    @like_shipwrecks: then it’s working. Actually, I’d be happy to tell both and and Stephen about it. I’m just keeping it quiet here for now. Ask online or on the phone sometime.

    @☼ Helder: Cool. I hope the curiosity lasts long enough for the project to be complete.
