Day 786 of 365 Again.
You know, writing a comic strip is hard.
Sometimes I have good ideas for Cosmic Hellcats and sometimes not. Tonight was one of the nots. I knew what had to happen in tonights episode. Max did a great hob of drawing it. And I thought the sight gag was mildly funny. I just didn’t have good dialogue for Chaste.
I usually like to make sure that every episode of Hellcats has kind of a punch-line in the last panel. Even if it’s not super funny. It has to be something. It’s just the way I have it paced.
Actually, it’s usually not that hard. I have several episodes plotted out weeks in advance, and Max gets me the line-art that he’s drawn days before it gets posted up, so I have plenty of time usually to color it and think of the exact dialogue. Chaste comics are usually super easy because pretty much anything she says is kind of funny just because of the way she talks, and most of the time she just speaks in movie or book quotes anyway.
Today I just couldn’t come up with anything. Eventually, with only 10 min before the strip was due, I decided to have her quote Cool Hand Luke.
I dunno. Does it work?
Ha! This makes me think that you and Max should appear in the strip! Going to read it now.
