Day 835 of 365 Again.
Wheee! It’s lazy photo day. Exciting, isn’t it?
Was too tired to do much of anything today. Didn’t even leave the house. Spent the morning working on photos from yesterdays ubermegashoot and then in the evening I switched over to working on the comic. Didn’t get around to taking a picture til I was done with the comic, just before midnight, and then since I hadn’t really did anything else that day I was kind of short on ideas.
I haven’t mentioned Cosmic Hellcats here recently, I don’t think. At least not explicitly. It’s kind of occupies a different part of my brain than photography does. However, I thought I’d mention it today, because I think I’m pretty proud of the writing on today’s episode, and I’d love to know what you think.
The bears of T.E.D.D.-IJA:µ that appear in the Cosmic Hellcat strip actually kind of predate the Hellcats themselves. Way back in high school I had the amusing idea that it might be fun to have a goofy animal comic about Teddy Bear action heroes. I figured I’d name them all after famous people named Ted, except for the leader who I wanted to call Jam. Never really did anything with it after that, but kept it in the back of my mind.
Fast forward a couple decades and I’m sitting at comicon with Max trying to come up with supporting characters for the strip and i decided to revisit it. Jam became Kennedy. Roosevelt went from being a panda to being a grizzly, and Riley went from being a brown bear to being a panda. Riley may be my favorite of the IJAs (Intergalactic Justice Advocates), but up until now, she really hasn’t had much to do in the strip. I really wanted to flesh out her character a bit, and today was my chance. But I still had to find a way to make it funny.
I hope I managed to pull that off.

@lrayholly – Mav gets the love lathered on his photos for free…no need to bribe me. Although if I was bribed I might do it more often.
@mav – yeah your definitely more my type lol. guilty admission – i need to catch up on the hellcats reading…so sorry…i’ll see what i can do coming up – hopefully a little more time on my hands coming soon.
