Day 1004 of 365 Again.

They’re coming to take me away,
Ha Ha
They’re coming to take me away!

So this was originally my plan for my Day 1000 shot, but a couple problems happened. First of all, the straitjacket I ordered didn’t get here in time. On top of that, I didn’t really have time with the shoot I did that day.

The jacket finally got here this weekend, but I decided I’d hold off on doing this shot til I had a bad enough day that it really seemed worth it.

That didn’t take long.

So it started when I got out of my car this morning to go to work. I carry my camera bag with me everywhere I go. I guess it wasn’t zipped up well, because my 50mm lens fell right out and rolled into the street. I wanted to go after it, but there was traffic. 2 seconds later I was forced to watch as a car ran it over and turned it to powder right before my eyes.

On a good note it’s the cheapest lens I own. One I use a whole lot, but pretty easy to replace. In fact, I’ve broken one before. On a bad note, it was pretty much par for the day.

I spent the rest of the day at work where our whole world blew up and we suddenly have 24-48 hours to do a month’s worth of work.

On a good note, like I said yesterday, I put a new photoset of Newt up on Zivity. Sadly, much like with all of my other Zivity sets or Cosmic Hellcats, I’m not rich yet. This really needs to be fixed. All this grown-up living is killing me.

Or at least driving me crazy.

They’re coming to take me away!

Wow! First, eek, I totally pictured your poor lens getting run over. But this shot is really cool. I know what you mean about the fiddy, I had dropped mine before and got it replaced, then…..Canon fixed the broken one. Hopefully, your day goes better tomorrow, I would think it couldn’t be worse.

They didn’t put you in a padded cell. How cruel. More cruel than forcing you to watch your lens get crushed.

I’ll bet the crazy ward in the white jail has padded cells. And HDTV.

Pretty much sums up the project I think. If anything, it would sum it up for me after 1000+ days.

PhotoKat: Could it be worse? Not really, but it isn’t really getting any better either. *sigh* Thanks, Bonnie.

    j.buck: thank you.

sara//snowlet: Thanks. The location is actually just a storage room in my basement

lrayholly: No they don’t! I actually wanted white but they didn’t have it, At least not from the cheap company.

phlewght: Nope. No padded cell for me. Evil bastards.

Jack Scoresby: heh. Yeah. It’s a wonder I’m sane enough to function at all.

backalley brawler: why? how do you keep track of time?

  10. May 12, 2009 at 7:53 pm

haha, i donno, by popping quay loods and listening to michael bolton

  11. May 14, 2009 at 1:36 pm

Wouldn’t that make you lose track of time? Okay, maybe the ‘ludes would, but I know that I’d be desperately counting the seconds till Michael Bolton’s voice stopped grinding paint off the wall.

I don’t believe you drew those hash marks with that paint brush.

phlewght: I totally did! Using my mouth too! Nothing but authenticity in my photos! 🙂
