So on election days the past several years, I’ve had this thing where I refuse to vote for anyone who is running unopposed. So when I see something like that, I do the natural thing. I write my own name in.
So I got a letter in the mail today:
The candidate above named, who received write-in votes in the Municipal Election of November 3, 2009, under various spellings of his/her name as shown on the reverse side of the form, for the office of Judge of Election, in Pittsburgh – Ward 29 District 8, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, does hereby petition the RETURN BOARD for the culmination fo votes.
AND NOW, TO-WIT, this 17th day of December, 2009, after reviewing the above captioned petition, the write-in votes as herein above mentioned are hereby ordered cumulated, thereby giving the Petitioner, Christopher Maverick, a total of 1 vote(s) in said Municipal Election.
And so on and so forth. So if I’m reading the legal statement and the accompanying letter correctly, basically by voting for myself I won the election. I guess maybe one of the offices had nobody in it, not just unopposed? Or maybe no one voted at all? I really don’t know.
So, I guess I get it notorized and mail it in and see what happens?
Just call me Judge Maverick.
That’s pretty neat 🙂
What the
I look forward to reading more of this development.
"Here come the Judge"
um… dude. I think you just made yourself the guy in charge of setting up the polling place. That’s my understanding of what a "Judge of Election" is anyways.
wacky.
Mickey’s right… and you get paid! Congrats!
I’m so proud. "sniff" "sniff" My baby is a Judge.
Throw the book at ’em Son! Oh… sorry, got carried away.
I’m pretty sure that doesn’t mean you won, but I could be wrong.
