I never meant to make this blog turn into “Mav’s Cellphone Project” and nothing else, so I thought I’d take a break from posting those to show something else that i did recently.
The following shots are from my recent shoot for Zivity with Megan Gardner. If you recognize Megan’s name, then you may know that I’ve recently added her to Elseworld as a contributor. Megan is both a model and a photographer, so hopefully she’ll be putting some cool stuff up here soon.
The concept for this shoot was Megan’s. She wanted to do gothic style pinups based on the idea that she was a porcelain doll. So I set up the lights to kind of eerie and then in post processing smoohted her skin far more than I ever would on a normal shoot to give her a doll-like appearance. I actually find the end result kind of creepy, personally. But it’s nice to do something different every once in a while.
If this looks familiar, then it’s likely because you remember seeing a similar shot during my 365 cell photos project, on the day we shot it. In any case, it was an interesting challenge to do something which, while it appears might be simple, was actually quite different than my normal photographic faire. Megan is quite fun to work with and I look forward to editing the other shoots we did that day and working with her again soon.
