Zivity Preview: Scarlet Begonias

begonia-6So there’s this Zivity contest called “Sing Me a Song” that Sarah and I wanted to shoot for but she wanted to do a song that she knew that no one else was going to pick. We sat in her living room going through MP3s and song lyrics on the internet trying to find a song that was very her, and that would also be very fun to shoot. Eventually we settled on Scarlet Begonias by the Grateful Dead. Why? Well, because Sarah is a total hippie, that’s why. Seriously, find a tree and she’ll totally hug it. This was a fun shoot. I’ve been doing so many dark and grim concepts lately that it was fun to shoot something happy and in color. It was autumn in Philadelphia, so we went to a park and she danced amongst the leaves. In a lot of ways it was just completely perfect. So check it out and let us know what you think:

She sells pressed flowers in a little internet shop. They’re really cute. So whoever gives the most votes on the set by January 1st, 2011 will receive the actual Scarlet Begonia that’s in her hair in this shoot. Why settle for photos when you can actually have a piece of the art. Hope you like it!
